PizzaGate

Can someone summarize pizzagate for me in a few sentences?

(I believe this has legs, so my quick review will probably have some bias) Allegedly, nothing has been proven, and most things are circumstantial at this point.

1. Pizza shop owner has very creepy tweets/instagrams etc involving children. There is also a lot of associated "art" (seriously don't look it up) that the main perp and some political figures have been tied too.
2. In the Democratic Party email release a lot of emails involved said owner of pizza shop and code words for pedophilia. These connected a lot of people back to this pedophilia ring. including some elements who have actually been convicted of pedophilia charges.
3. Main points revolve around a secret basement under the pizza shop where some of the acts happen. Owner was caught lying about there being no basement.
4. There have been a number of threatening responses to inquiries. I can't really blame them, I would react pretty bad if someone came to my work and accused me of such.
5. Some facts while not directly related to this case lend credence to the charges. DC and a couple other places mentioned have higher than usual child kidnappings/pedophilia related crimes than elsewhere. One of the major media figures denying this as a real case was fired for covering up the pedophilia of another similar figure.

as of now I have seen nothing to press charges on but how much this is getting swept away/ignored gives me pause. this isn't a political thing, both Hilary and Trump have been tied to this.

a lot of .gov email addresses...

someone from my IT department called and asked if I have ever used Tor. I told them no. They said that my computer had dark web activity on it. Now they're taking my computer and replacing it. No additional details were given. Only thing related was that I read an article I had previously posted that anonymous had hacked a web host for dark web sites

Anyway, I have no idea how the two could be related but don't click on the link.

Your workplace probably has software that scans all emails and webpages you visit for certain keywords. Because Tor was mentioned in the article, it sent an immediate alert to the IT staff.

I called him back. He said my computer was attempting to access onion sites. Which I had never even heard of

Is it possible that my computer was hacked and coopted to serve as a router for onion sites?

I clicked on the link and then actually clicked on another link from there trying to learn more about the data dump and see if any big names were busted being sick bastages. All this from mobile though...so hopefully no issues. Guess we will see...i am like you in that i know nothing about tor or onions, but i know from reading those articles that you have to run different software and stuff to even be able to access the dark web. Lots of encryption and misdirection just to access that world. There is no way to just google stuff or click on links. That stuff is waaaaaaaaay out of my league

I searched my computer and looked at the process log and nothing out of the ordinary. So I don't know how that software could run

not directly related to PizzaGate itself although it does cover the same subject. sentencing going through on some people who ran a child abuse website on the dark web

Child sex abuse site operator jailed for 20 years - BBC News

Prior to it being closed, the FBI ran the site for two weeks, gathering data on its users.
Playpen is believed to have had about 150,000 members who shared tens of thousands of postings about the sexual abuse of children.
The DoJ said the FBI action had led to the arrest of 51 people connected to the site and to the rescue of 55 children who were being abused.

to give a little scope to the issue.
