I was going to ask essentially the same thing.
You see, the alt right fake news believer right wingers on this board just insist on making truly horrible analogies, or citing non-existent facts, to support their continued adherence to the irrational.
I used to think they did it just to antagonize those of us who can think and reason. Just being pot stirrers.
But in time it has become clear to me that, even if some miniscule part of their tiny wee little brains is telling them that there is something wrong with the analogy, or that the factual basis for their assertion is questionable, they just throw it our there because its part of the fake new gambit to repeat crap so often it gains an air of legitimacy since its coming from more than one place.
The red herring fallacy is employed here frequently and it usually does pass for cogent debate. There was no news to speak of in the Sandusky scandal until the grand jury report was released on 11/4/11.
