Pittsburg Weather!

Pittsburgh humidity is no joke. I lived in Pittsburgh before moving to North Carolina where I’ve spent the last decade. Pittsburgh humidity is worse and it’s not close. Can’t speak for Louisiana or Florida but my wife went to grad school in south Texas and when I would visit her (I was in Pittsburgh at the time) it’s better there.

thank you!

Ever been to Gonzales LA (just north of New Orleans). The humidity there is worst I’ve ever experienced. You go out to your truck at 7am and it’s drenched like it just rained but not a drop of rain has fallen.

The temp is perfect. For out of towners, don't underestimate that humidity. 82 in Pittsburgh is hotter than 92 in Texas. No joke, so muggy here...

I imagine that area near the Mississippi has got to blow. My neighbor is going some infrastructure work there the last couple of months and comes home complaining about it being so awful every weekend.
Nothing worse than the Miss River delta in the summer. I lived in Blytheville Arkansas years ago and some days it was hard just to breathe let alone work. Biggest Misquitoes you ever seen too. We called them the Arkansas state birds.

Saturday 7pm weather forecasts (as of 09/09/2022):
Knoxville - 75F/79% = Apparent Temp = 86F
Pittsburgh - 75F/55% = Apparent Temp = 75.5

Ergo: Hotter in TN... Well... hang on...seems to be an exception... the Hooker Effect will actually make it hotter in Pitt at Game Time.

Bro I live in TX, 82 in PA will never compare to 92 here. I base this off of facts. Was stationed in the NE for 3+ years and folks were straight trippin when it got a smidge warm. I was walkin around in longs pants and a turtle neck in Aug.

But were you stationed in Pittsburgh?

You are proving my original point, that people lump Pittsburgh in with the Northeast and figure our summer weather is the same as Philly/NY/boston/etc. It is not.

Most of here are in Tennessee, so we get the humidity thing. I lived in Southwest Texas and the 103 felt cooler than 85 here in Tennessee. The sun does beat harder in dry air, but overall, humidity is underestimated toward heat index. Our dew point hovered in the low to mid 70s for a straight month here in East Tennessee through summer and it has only broken a couple times since then.

I live in Southeast Texas just outside Beaumont TX. We live basically in a swamp here and temps are regularly 100+ degrees even after 8 pm with 100% humidity. There is no way you can compare Pittsburgh heat to that. I read the forecast and was literally wishing I could have that weather!

Any time I see Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania spelled without the "h" on the end, I have to exercise my vast knowledge of useless trivia.

Here goes :

Happy 'H' Day! A celebration of how Pittsburgh ISN'T Pittsburg

The Honus Wagner card is the most valuable baseball card in history, in part, because it included the outdated but correct spelling of the city at the time, without the "h" on the end.

Was Pittsburgh Really Named Pittsburg First? | Pittsburgh Beautiful

Also, the best entrance into any city that I have ever seen is the drive through the tunnel into Pittsburgh. Awesome! It has a blue-collar reputation that it outgrew 40 years ago. It is a beautiful city.
