Ummm East Tennessee = humidity capital for N. America. My wife always asks "How can we have 100% humidity and it not be raining?" And most E. Tennessee folks will just smile and say Um hum.

Most visitors to Pittsburgh think of it as a colder Northern city (which it is in the winter) and are surprised by the mugginess in the summer. I didn't realize how humid East Tennessee can be so I guess you will be better equipped for it than other visitors.

But, for what it's worth, I have a vacation property near Crossville, TN and I promise you I never feel as muggy there as I do home in Pgh, maybe it's the cool breeze off the lake and the cold beer in my hand that makes me not notice it there.

I live in Crossville and the 2000ft Elevation doesn't hurt. It's always 5-10 degrees cooler than Knoxville, so not a good comparison.

Pittsburgh humidity is no joke. I lived in Pittsburgh before moving to North Carolina where I’ve spent the last decade. Pittsburgh humidity is worse and it’s not close. Can’t speak for Louisiana or Florida but my wife went to grad school in south Texas and when I would visit her (I was in Pittsburgh at the time) it’s better there.

I live in Crossville and the 2000ft Elevation doesn't hurt. It's always 5-10 degrees cooler than Knoxville, so not a good comparison.
