yeah brah, you got your Uncles mixed up. That is Uncle Jesse bro

My neighbor had a tied up Boxer and he was aggressive. Again, I think it just goes back to how the dogs are treated. Boxers are very cute dogs and I wish I could say I have met a nicer one since then.

Are you sure it was a boxer. I highly doubt it.

Not sure where you are going with this (my fault for not understanding).

My point to that post was he didn't know what he was talking about.

I've only been around two Pits for any length of time, both sweet as could be. BUT, I am certain if a child poked either one in the eye (by mistake while playing), that child would probably lose a hand. If Behr gets poked in the eye by a child (playing or being mean) Behr loses an eye.

This is a tough subject.

I honestly don't believe Pits are as bad as perceived, but I also know they are a bit more aggressive than a lot of other breeds, why? IMO, it is the owners. Even my neighbor thinks it's "cool" to have a Pit. He is a good owner, but he F's with her all the time. Good owners or not, Pits are treated differently than other breeds.

i'm back now , what is behr? youre very good

i really do hate pits in the public

and any argument so far, and very very surprised how few, can be squashed in a concise manner

btw i'm just now on p. 11

Here's the bottom line - somebody may have already posted it but I haven't read 16 pages:

Pits can be good dogs. The problem is that they have been bred to fight and fight hard. It's in their DNA. Other dogs can be vicious. For example, I have a 22lb beagle with an attitude. However, if he goes to biting somebody, mayhem will not ensue. Maybe some bleeding but minor injuries overall. And there is no danger of him killing anyone, ever. Yet, if a pit goes to biting someone, the damage is usually very severe. Their jaws are so powerful that if they get hold of your arm, they will crush the bones inside. Then they won't let go. And they won't stop until the owner beats them away from the victim, the victim dies or can't fight back anymore.

So that type of dog requires an owner that is dedicated to ensuring the safety of others. It's like having a loaded gun laying around. If something goes wrong, death is a possible result Owning a pit requires effort, time and probably money to ensure the safety of others. If you aren't willing to give those three things, you should not own a pit bull.

In all actuality, dogs seem to be more afraid of males than females. I don't know if this was an act of empathy on the part of the dog, or if he just saw what he perceived to be violence from a male and he got aggressive/defensive. The dog may have been abused by a male from a young age.
