Pirate helmet sticker to honor Mike Leach?

I was reading on another site(SDS),an Alabama fan wrote that he thought that all SEC bowl schools should wear a "pirate flag "sticker on the back of all helmets to recognize Mike Leach.I think that this would be a good thing for him-coach,freethinker,pirate that he was.

I can see that for each opponent on game day. To many good men die every year, active and retired to start down a different road.

This is the kinda stuff that made him great. Not only a successful and innovative coach, but an insanely interesting and personable guy

RIP coach. Although I love coach Heupel, it would have been more than interesting if we would have hired coach Leach.

He woulda won here, but who knows how much.

But one thing woulda been guaranteed…it woulda been interesting…and fun.

Note: it’s more than fun now and I like the coach we have. Just sayin….

Every college team in a bowl should wear a pirate helmet sticker to honor Coach Leach!

Realize it's likely too late to get it done, but how cool would it be if MSU could do some kind of one-off uniform that combines Tx Tech, Wash St, and MSU...capped off with a black Jolly Roger helmet.

Coach Leach was a great coach with a legendary coaching tree to secure his legacy. Several coaches from Kliff Kingsbury, Lincoln Riley, Sonny Dykes and Art Briles just to name a few. He was always a great interview and never took himself too seriously. I never thought to much of him until he came to the SEC. Since his arrival at Mississippi State, he earned my respect and think he did things his way. He didn’t really care if you liked him or not. You could tell he was a supper smart guy.

I do think now, he would have been a successful hire here at UT. Would have been so much better than the Cornbread that Fulmer eventually hired. Rest in Peace Coach Leach. You will be missed by everyone that watches college football. God bless your wife and your family.

I lived in Texas for over ten years where I became a big fan of Coach Leach. This is a very sad day for college football. I still know many in Red Raider Nation who are mourning. May God bless CML's family and friends in this time of great loss.

Cool from an outsiders perspective, yes. Can you imagine if Tennessee had done a Pitt / Tennessee uniform combo to honor Johnny Majors? Somehow I doubt the MSU faithful would be supportive.

Those MSU players deserved their bowl game and the right to wear the maroon for which they fought. No hybrid uniform. Helmet patches, yes.
