Tell me I'm not alone with this.

I agree. It never works. Like....literally ever.

He doesn't have the shiftiness or change of direction CP had. Well, I guess nobody does, but still, I don't think Pig is a playmaker. I think Devrin is better in that position IMO. Flame away

We do not have enough speed on offense or defense. Even against Kentucky, we look slow. I do believe help is coming! GBO!!

I agree..wouldnt mind seeing some of those 4th down plays we used against the Dawgs on occassion though.

Blocking would help. Agree though those plays don't produce. I'll be glad when backs hit the LOS hard. Dancing sucks.

If we're gonna do it, how about we improve the timing.

Even with faster players and better timing it doesn't work well in the sec. To much speed on defenses to make that a staple play in our offense. It will work from time to time buy not enough for 10 or more plays a game. Hopefully our coaches learn this after next year.

You're not. Been complaining about this stupid, useless fail of a play all of this year and half of last. Just don't understand the point. I swear he has to have a net minus 50 yds the last 2 years running that play.

Pig isn't particularly explosive, but you guys really should check your stats before making these kinds of statements. Including this game, he now has 18 carries for 93 yards, including a 20-yard long, for roughly a 5.2 yard per carry average ( Alton Howard Stats, News, Videos, Pictures, Bio - Tennessee Volunteers - ESPN). That isn't scintillating but it isn't chopped liver either.

I don't see the shiftiness in DY. Still waiting for that thing to happen on kick returns, and I just don't see it. Almost always hits a cluster and goes down. Hard runner, yes. But I'm not sure he has the cuts to break out. Seems even less likely out of the backfield on a reverse/sweep.

Some type of conspiracy by Bajakian and UTs SID to mask the utter ineffectiveness of that play so that Bajakian can continue to run that play, by far his most favoritest play in the whole wide world with impunity..... IMO.

It doesn't always have to gain much, if any, yardage, although you obviously don't want to lose yardage on any play. But I'm sure they run it to make the DC consider Pig as a 2nd or 3rd RB in the backfield on certain formations. When the D sees the offense in a certain formation with Pig in particular spots, they will anticipate Pig on a reverse. It helps open the middle of LOS for Neal/lane, or for Dobbs to keep it and go away from Pig. So they will run different plays off the same set to keep the defense different things to think about, and Pig on the reverse is one of them.

Finally someone gets it. Auburn ran these plays all night against Bama, most to no avail, but it opened up some big plays in the interior run game. Just another wrinkle that we use to keep defenses honest.
