Pig Howard dismissed from team...

man me too, i was hoping he could get some revenge this weekend, that fumble through the endzone, heartbreaking.....

Never been more proud of a loss in my life. You could see the pain on Pig's face. Was also proud of VN that day. As bad as it hurt I don't think anyone put any fault on Pig. Left it all out there that day

Or.....
They could stop during college for a chance to make millions of dollars playing a game and a free ride to a major university?
Are you serious that this is our fault?
No def not. This is on Pig as he is the only one that can control what he puts into his body. And if we do warn our players, then even more fault falls on Pig's shoulders (mmmm sounds yummy). It's not always that easy to quit for some people though.

I am saying, however, that most major cfb programs, including smaller ones than UT, do warn of drug screens nearly year round. College football players know when they can smoke or if they cant smoke for a few weeks and so on. I have no idea whether we warn our players or not. I don't live in Knoxville so I don't have any direct affiliation with players to be privy to that info, but if we're not, we def should be. You never want to lose a good player because a drug screen got him caught for smoking weed.

Standard operating procedure for UT and Media for most of Jones transfers.

That's just wrong. UT and the media never specify the reason for a dismissal or attack a player over a transfer. Butch Jones went out of his way to be respectful to Dewayne Hendrix even though Hendrix was expressing some bitterness last December. You are confusing the response of fans with UT and the media. Of course, fans on the internet (especially VN) lash out against transfers but so what? They don't speak for UT and certainly don't work for the media. This was an ignorant and immature post.

Lot of posters claim weed is harmless and not addictive, yet how many athletes forfeit their scholly and playing careers for the stuff over and over again after multiple chances? 5th failed drug test??

Did jones actually say it was because of drug issues? Or are the the jones supporters that ask for proof from his mouth regarding the altercation taking outside rumors as proof on this one?

Not saying it's not true, just find it funny how people's view point is different. Also I haven't listened to the presser, so my original question could clear all this up.

So was Pig smoking to deal with he symptoms of his concussion?

I hate to hear this news, like we needed this to happen.. What on earth was his thinking damn't? Very disappointed!!!

He gave his all on the field, but bc of rules that won't even exist a few years from now, he can't play. Still, pig ****ed up and no one is more aware of that than pig, but to say that he's gonna be flipping burgers bc he failed some dt's is casting ancient stereotypes that old codgers still belive to be true.

thanks man, like seriously if we talkin bout weed and only weed, this **** is nonsense, people live in the dark ages, or at least like to cast stones at glass houses...making it seem like pot use makes u unaccountable and not fit for holding a decent job is a joke....

I'm not one out to get people that smoke but in the end, if they know we do random tests, it's completely on them.
IDC if they smoke in h.s. and pick it back up after college. But it's not too much to ask for them to follow the rules while here, given the opportunity they receive.

no mention of drugs just that it had nothing to do with injuries so people are automatically jumping to conclusions that it has everything to do with drugs. That is what happens here with almost everyone. Have to be the 1st on in so we can say check my stats.

Seems to be reason to believe he was never injured and the concusion talk was just a coverup

Multiple posters are saying he hasn't been with the team for weeks

Not to mention his cryptic tweet. I'm sure it's deleted now, but it conveyed signs of dissonance between himself and the staff. So sad. Pig really did give his all for UT. His performance in the Georgia game two years ago has been one of the best in the last several years in my opinion.

Sounds to me like Butch getting rid of his most vocal critic on the team in a desperate attempt to galvanize a win to save his job

Weed is def addictive. It doesn't cause the same behavior/symptoms as alcohol, opiate, or stimulant addiction, but it is def addictive. Go up to your local state or county probation office and ask how many of them have violated for smoking weed. If risking 7 years of prison (or risking your football career) to smoke weed doesn't show signs of addiction, I don't know what does.

I would also agree that weed is is not benevolent to someone's mind and body, but it's not near as rough as alcohol is on someone. If alcohol etg testing were performed, you would find just as many, if not more, people that would fail and lose their jobs, violate probation/parole, etc, bc there are just as many people that can't stop drinking.

The argument is that an addiction to weed is not nearly as harmful or addictive as alcohol, or other illegal drugs.

Its bs that anyone should get kicked off the team for weed. Alcohol is way more dangerous. This is embarrassing its 2015.

full of it for kicking a guy off for failing multiple drug test?

Please go try hard somewhere else with this bs my god get a life

I think he was referring to Butch saying Pig has been out due to nagging injuries and a failed concussion test prior to today, when he has been abruptly dismissed due to violation of team rules.

It wasn't just weed.

The fact that you are saying it's a stereotype shows how you view the world. I personally don't care what color a persons skin is. I just simply made a educated guess/troll on what his future is. So maybe un kink your panties and play ball.
