Volquest (Rivals) has Bray a 5.45 in the 40. Is he really that slow? That is slower tnan all the offensive linemen listed and over 1 second slower than all the defensive linemen listed. Crompton is no speed demon and was rated at 4.9 coming out of HS, or .6 quicker than Bray. Can this be a misprint in his 40?

Why are people so consistently worried about this? The kid plays the one position in a pro-style offense that never has to worry about running the ball 40 yards in a straight line and this coupled with the toothpick comments are just growing tiresome. He probably won't have to worry about even playing next year, he's going to have plenty of time to beef up some and condition himself. And the 40 time is:

a.) not important
b.) really old (it's been that way on his profile forever)
c.) not defining as a means of athleticism because for a tall kid his film really shows he has a pretty good handle for the pocket and isn't just an immobile anvil back there

Can't wait to see Bray meeting those tiny WR's and RB's over the middle for the next 3-4 years with Monte coaching him up. He will deliver some hits.

:lolabove:

And I thought Bray was wearing 16 there for a minute, since he had his hand/arm over the second number.

anyone who is worried about bray's speed needs to watch tom brady's combine 40 yard dash on youtube. footwork is the key in a pro style offense, not speed. he will be a qb that will get better over his career as he fills out. i don't see him coming right in and playing but in year two or three, he could really be good.

Important or not ... that is an embarrassing 40 time.

You guys are making way too much bout his weight...by the time the season begins he will be about 210 or so...he probably won't be playing anyhow, so it's really not a big deal.

This time next year Bray will look completely different. College level strength and conditioning and diet options are light years different than at the High School level, especially smaller High Schools like Bray came from. He'll be force fed huge amounts of calories from the dining hall and will have a great strength/weight gain program laid out by the S&C staff. He'll gain muscular weight and will make tremendous gains in strength and speed in a single year.

The problem is Californians only eat sushi and tofu. The following daily perscription should solve the problem:

1. 6 Buttermilk Biscuits with sausage gravy and a quart of orange juice
2. 2 pounds of BBQ from Corkys with a half gallon of sweet tea.
3. 2 Krispy Kremes for a midafternoon snack... Ok, make it 5.
4. Full Rack of ribs from Calhouns with a side salad. (gotta get dem veggies!)
5. Milk shake with 6 eggs right before bed time.

This, ladies and gentlemen, will turn him into a DT!

a.) It is important when you get flushed out of the pocket and have to outrun the defense to get a pass off.
b.) If he is 5.45 now at 185 pounds, how fast will he be when he adds 25-30 pounds?
c. ) Have you no concerens he is slow and fragile with a new o-line?

Agreed. Once he gets some good southern food in his diet, he will beef up.
