Pickled Food

In 1993 I won a radio contest and they sent me and a buddy to Ames, Iowa for the Farmaid concert. Anyway, we got a rental car and wound up in some dive drinkin' beer. This is the kind of place that has pickle jars on the bar. Started looking and: pickled eggs (check); pickled sausages (check); pickled pigs feet (check); pickled turkey gizzards (che...WTF?). I just looked at em' I didn't eat em'. Later, I had a knife pulled on me and I partied with a taxidermist named Speedy.

I love to take yellow squash, zucchini, onions, bell peppers and sometimes even jalapenos, marinate them in italian dressing and cook in an aluminum foil bag over a grill. It's de-lish.

Now that does sound delicious. I now have something new to try on the grill this year !

Thanks for the suggestion !

I loved pickled foods. Tomatoes, pickles beets, okra etc, etc. But if you have never had pickled sausage you are totally missing the boat........
