Pick your poison

Suppose you had to chose what kind of totalitarian dictatorship, based on the ones we have seen historically so far, you would want to live in? Which would you choose and why?

I've narrowed the choices to historically significant totalitarian societies seen in the twentieth century, which are:

Fascism/National Socialism: Aggressively nationalistic, racist and militaristic garrison states that characterized post WWI Europe. Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy are the best examples.

Hard Line Communism: Meaning five year plans, collectivization of agriculture, Gulags and all that good stuff. The U.S.S.R under Stalin and China under Mao are the best examples.

Religious Fundamentalism: Governments ruled by literal interpretation of ancient sacred texts. Iran under Khomeini and Afghanistan under the Taliban are the best examples, although hard line elements of the U.S Christian Right, the ones who would make the laws of the old testament the laws of the land, would fall in here too ... if they got the chance.

It's like a choice of cyanide, arsenic or rat poison. You have to pick one. Which and why?

I'm with him....the horrors of fascism might at least exclude the endless religious or pseudo religious rants. Facists do not appear to have anything against alcohol.

Fascism is probably the closest of the three to what we'd consider normal society. All three are far from us but fascism would be the closest. You'd see far more restrictions on everyday life under the other two such as religion, property, profit, etc.
