"Pick Nick?"

I remember when they were talking about putting Stephens in and some people around here joked that they call him "Pick Nick" for his practice abilities.

Wonders what actually getting in the game will do.

Gamers, Anyone who's played sports know they exist.

I'm not saying he'll even play Arena League 2, but he's about the only guy on the year's team that I see trying to prove a damn thing and better himself besides the obvious Eric Berry. He might be the QB of the worst offense in recent memory, but the young man bleeds that he wants to win.

Ability might not be there, but the cut throat look on opponents is, The latter is the thing I want at UT.

He is certainly much better in the game than I ever thought he would be....it killed me to seem him benched against USCe, but taking the bench for a bit (not as long as he did) might have been necessary because you could see that it was absolutely killing him..the kid is a lot of heart, he has to learn to control that and use it to his advantage....

The want to, that he has. It obvious that Nick Stephens wants to be a leader on this team.

I never said I didn't want talent. I want talent, but I'd like to see talent with the will to go out and lead. You could say Al Wilson was "out of control" with getting six feet up someones ass if they messed up. He wasn't he had the talent and an ego big enough to believe that he could lead a group of men.

Great leaders are egotistical just in the points that they think they can lead other men to a goal. No one on this team has stepped up and said I'm the the pulse of this team, except Berry with his on the field play and it's my thought that Stephens has as well, it's just he isn't ultra-talented.

You mix Stephens attitude will with a talented player. All bets are off. It's obvious our talent has dropped. Therefore whoever comes in need to worry about two things. #1, breaking down the groupthink in the locker room and generating leaders and men who want to stand out above the rest instead of bluing into a family, and then get talent.

I think Stevens is fairly talented - more than he gets credit for. He certainly has the ability to throw the deep ball well. Needs some work on the short and midrange routes though.

Stephens has a gun for an arm. I'm just excited to see, if coached by people that see what his upsides are and hopefully teach an offensive line to block to give him time, what Stephens ends up doing.

He's very, very, very rough around the edges, but the kid has 3 things no one can teach. A gun, elusivness, and the attitude to win and be a leader and of course the leader part is somewhat rough as well, but a culture change never hurts to spur greatness.

Stephens was asked once about him playing much better in games than he did in practice and his response was that during practice he tried to see what he could or could not do so when it was game time he already knew his limitations.

People like Nick Stephens make me proud to still be a TN fan. He is a great example and should be commended for his hard work and dedication.
