Pick 5 losses you can live with

I did watch Missouri play 3 times this year and there is no reason to think that they will come in to Neyland and run over us. Out side of Alabama, I think every other game is a very winnable game. Not saying it is going to happen, but I refuse to concede the 2012 season 1 week after the end of the 2011 season. Defeatist may, so feel free to do so.

So you do see a thread where you pick out 5 acceptable losses as negative? You have drank too deeply from the well of discontent and misery. That is okay. You will feel better later.

He started an honest thread about how many losses we will have next year and you go off on some dumb tangent about him not supporting Dooley. You're reading into the thread way too much.

Oh, ist that what he was doing? Just opening a thread about which 5 games would it be okay to lose next year. Gee thanks for showing me the error of my ways. Why not try this one; show me which 9 games we can win. I will start. All four of the OC games. Vandy, Kentucky, Miss. St, Missouri, Florida. We can beat SC and GA as well. The only one we will have to pull a big upset in is the Alabama game in Knoxville. Now that is much more positive and did not question anyone's like or dislike of any coach. It is as simple and more productive to be positive than to constantly be negative.

The only ones in which I'm confident we'll lose are UGA and Bama. There is a good chance that we will drop 1-3 more.

This is a sad day. I never thought I would see the day that Vol fans were talking about a loss being acceptable. Folks there is no loss acceptable, we are TENNESSEE we deserve better. I can remember not so long ago when our fans carried a swagger that our team radiated and it seems that we Vols(team and fans) have gotten away from that. I have played competitive sports and if you go into any game with the thought in your head that you could lose then you will. You gotta know that when you take that field or court that you are gonna win. You do lose some but you still have to carry that mentality in whatever you do in life whether its in sports or in life or you will not be successful. You gotta have confidence but be humble at the same time. So lets say that no loses are acceptable and we expect to win every game next season but if we do hit a snag here and there then we move to the next game with the same mentality. Thanks for your time guys and GBO!!!

A majority of you have voted that 8-5 is an acceptable outcome for the Vols next year. For those who picked that option, what 5 losses are acceptable?

8/30 or 9/1 - NC State (Chick-fil-A Kickoff Classic)
9/8 - Georgia State
9/15 - Florida
9/22 - Akron
9/29 - at Georgia
10/6 - BYE
10/13 - at Mississippi State
10/20 - Alabama
10/27 - at South Carolina
11/3 - Troy
11/10- Missouri
11/17 - at Vanderbilt
11/24 - Kentucky

Dear WesternKYVol,
I am positive that I was not originally positive toward you thread. I will make a more concerted effort to always remain positive no matter how much negativity I feel about what you or anyone else post. Thank you for listening.

In terms of games played, we will have a VERY experienced team. No excuses next year. I'm only counting on Georgia and Alabama as probable losses. Florida won't be that great. NC State could be a trap game. We shouldn't get a deadly draw from the West again.

Georgia and Bama is expected. Not too sure about the others, and by others I mean Florida and South Carolina.

Are you just trying to see how many different negative angles you can come from? Heck why not start a thread on how many points we will give up in each individual game. Over and under. We know you don't like Dooley. While I may not like some of the things that happened this year, I am believing that things will get better, starting with next season. Personally I could do with out 5 more negative-anti vol post. Have a nice day.

The thread is about clarifying expectations and making sure that the analysis about our future isn't lost in the woods of one of the most underachieving teams I have ever seen. If you want to connect it with DD, fine. I had high expectations before I fell off his bandwagon in November. I see no reason to lower my expectations for next year because of this year's failure.

I am not OK with a loss to UGA. They are not that good.

There have been a few games where they slid by: Vandy, Florida, and I heard Kentucky gave them trouble. Tonight they actually lost by one point more than the Vols lost to LSU. I know, but it's still more!

What I don't get is how you expect UT to go from 5-7 under Fulmer and 7-6 under Kiffin and have Dooley just come in and be expected to win the East in 3 years. Yes I know it was ugly this year. But look at the schedule. No one would have held up to that. Especially not a team composed mostly of Sophs and Froshs. Switch UGA and UT's conference schedule at UT wins 8 games easy. You gotta keep some perspective. If Dooley can get us to 4-4 in conference and 8 regular season wins then that is a positive step. It will be UTs best record in 5 years and something to build on for Dooley when his first recruits are finally seniors.

1.) alabubba
2.) the lame bulldogs
3.) that's it. Maybe the bowl, but the rest are all winnable (Georgia too IMO), and I'll be mad if we lose any of them. I'm not saying I think we end up 10-3 counting the bowl game. But I think anything less than 9, and moron should be tossed out so fast his head spins. GBO! Sorry for my hate, but that's how I feel about him after tge KY jelly game.

Man, I don't know. Bama will be strong again, but I don't want to lose to South Carolina or Florida next year at all.

Anybody that can be positive about Dooley won't have any trouble finding a positive in a pile of horse sh#t.
