A majority of you have voted that 8-5 is an acceptable outcome for the Vols next year. For those who picked that option, what 5 losses are acceptable?

8/30 or 9/1 - NC State (Chick-fil-A Kickoff Classic)
9/8 - Georgia State
9/15 - Florida
9/22 - Akron
9/29 - at Georgia
10/6 - BYE
10/13 - at Mississippi State
10/20 - Alabama
10/27 - at South Carolina
11/3 - Troy
11/10- Missouri
11/17 - at Vanderbilt
11/24 - Kentucky

Alabama. Maybe Georgia... Haven't made my mind up about Georgia though.

Guys, I'm a Dooley supporter by the way, if you look at the # of starts for teams next year, we should be one of the most experienced in the SEC next year. If we lose 5 games, including the bowl game, next year I will be extremely disappointed.

I can't find 5 teams I think would be acceptable losses. I can find 3(Bama, UGA, USCjr) and maybe Mizzou if I had to pick 4 I will never list Vandy as an acceptable loss, not this side of Heaven.

Are you just trying to see how many different negative angles you can come from? Heck why not start a thread on how many points we will give up in each individual game. Over and under. We know you don't like Dooley. While I may not like some of the things that happened this year, I am believing that things will get better, starting with next season. Personally I could do with out 5 more negative-anti vol post. Have a nice day.

I agree, that would be a terrible year especially with our offensive line experience.

It's an easier schedule next year.

We play several teams with less talent, so that won't be the problem.

That is not what he said at all. You unconditional Dooley supporters are way too sensitive.

I'm with you. I don't know what to expect from Mizzou or Miss State. If we are healthy, I struggle to justify 5 losses with that schedule, esp based on flashes we saw this year(first halves vs good teams)UGA may be much better than I expect

I feel dirty for saying any loss is acceptable but if you told me I could take 8-5 right now and not play a single game. I would say Ill take it so here it goes.... Missouri since we havent lost to them yet, Alabama because not many folks are beating Saban coached teams, NC State since on a neutral field and first game of year so plenty of time to recover, South Carolina since we have shown success off and on with those guys and lastly I have the bowl game. I am saying its time for us to finally beat Florida and they are as vulnerable as ever and will be on our home field so Dooley better beat them. Georgia is beating our eye shut these days and Richt is picking up steam with second wind as Georgia coach and recruiting is going to get tougher so we need to prove Dooley can beat his papas school.

So you do see a thread where you pick out 5 acceptable losses as negative? You have drank too deeply from the well of discontent and misery. That is okay. You will feel better later.

I'll take Bama, NC State, Miss St, Sec Championship game and whatever bowl game. 9-5. Not too shabby.
