Phillip Fulmer Show (Sep. 28)

I get angry listening to Fulmer moan and make little "that's not good" and "I don't know what that was" comments as he watches Crompton's terrible passes. As if he has no ownership in Crompton's poor play.

I almost dry-heaved when I heard him give his speech at the end about some great opportunities ahead of this team. As long as this offense is inept, we can expect more of the same.

I guess there is a reason Cutcliffe went after B.J. Coleman.

Promote Phil (that is what corp. America does when they want to address performance issues). Put him in an admin position. He is a good man and understnads recruiting. We need new blood in the coaching position.

I don't know if Fulmer is in denial or what, but I was very dissapointed in what he had to say about the rest of the year. Either he's a very optimistic man, or completely blind. I'm hoping for the former.

All the Vol Network (Party Line) shows are awful at this time. All the spinning is enough to make a person feel very sick to his stomach.

I thought it was funny when he was basically begging the fans to come out to the Northern Illinois game. I don't think he's as out of touch as people think - he knows his buns are getting toasty and has learned the art of talking like a politician. He knows 60k next week in Neyland is just another hill the boulder is rolling down on its way down the hill to his house.

Let's just hope the powers that be are not in denial like Fulmer.............if they are in denial, then we will continue this slide!

I was really disappointed with the miscommunication between Crompton and WRs yesterday. This is the coaches responsibility to make sure everyone understands the plays and run them to perfection in practice like Cut used to do. I wish he would acknowledge that.

It seems like JC doesn't even look to see (or care to see) if the receivers are open or even if they've ran the correct route. He just chunks it out there. If the WR's aren't where his ball lands, its their fault.

Yep, the WRs must not have been paying attention when the play called was to run 10 yards out of bounds to catch the ball !!!:mf_surrender:

I wish Clawson would come downstairs and work from the sidelines. There were times at both UCLA and yesterday that JC needed some face time with the quarterbacks coach. I just don't think the phone calls are getting through to the guy...

What do you expect him to say? You really think any Coach would criticize his own players on Television? Make decisions/judgement calls without looking at the film. I mean damn the man just got in from an emotional loss with very little sleep and you want him or any coach for that matter to proclaim on TV that he/they have it figured out?

Obviously a lot of you never played football on any level. If you had you would know that things look very different on the field and from the sidelines than they do from the vantage point of film. You can't see everything that goes on from the sidelines. Hell, no coach in their right mind makes statements about personnel, position changes etc. without first talking to his position coaches and looking at the film to see EXACTLY what happened.

You never tear your players down in public regardless of their performance. Thats an obligation the coach has, to not only his players, but to the players families. This is not pro football these kids aren't getting payed to play this game. They are still learning the game, that's why its College Football and not Pro Football.

But this idea that Fulmer should go on his TV show and start ridiculing his players and confess that the season is ruined and all is lost is one of the most ridiculous things I have seen. How do you think that would play out with the team if he proclaimed on TV that the season is a wash and we'll just start workin on next year? No Coach will do that, period. And if they did they would probably be shown the door.
