Why didn't they just move the tourney to the philips arena which is right next door and holds a whole lot more people than GT. I haven't even heard anyone mention this as a possibility.:ermm:

If you'd have read the thread, you'd see people DID mention it, then people researched it and found out Phillips Arena is already booked.

Good point. It just probably didn't occur to anybody in the SEC, even when they were walking right by it on the way home last night. It's probably sitting there right now, completely safe, empty, with the basketball court set up.

Not to mention...since PA is right next door...it was severely damaged too....I'm not trying to sound like a jerk...but have you gone on line to see the damage the tornado caused in the area?

Shan Foster is lying on his back at mid-court crying, and Kevin Stallings is being d-bag to some poor peanut vendor

Why are you asking me? I clearly understand the situation, whereas the OP does not.

. . . because sending 25,000 people into a disaster area to watch a basketball game makes perfect sense.

I was reading on espn that the hawks continued their game and there wasn't any damage to the arena

What part of disaster area/already booked do you not get?

They also continued the game at the Georgia Dome...what's your point?
