Fulmer was interviewed on 104.5 the zone here in nashville today(of all days right?). The main focus of the interview was around the movie the blindside and his role in the movie. As most of us have seen from the previews he's got the WOW factor down to a T(no pun intended). When asked about his future he just kept saying he was happy working with CBS but he hasn't ruled out coaching next year given the right circumstances. It seems as if the media refuses to ask him anything about VOLS football or what he thinks about Kiffin or crompton or really anything concerning this years team. At the opening of the interview, when asked how he was doing he did say" I'm doing good. I'm glad I don't have to deal with that mess in Knoxville today."

I think he had to clean up enough messes in his day. Hope he gets back into coaching. I love Kiffin and i love are new staff. 100% the opposite of a Fulmer Homer but he will always get my respect as a coach and support.

Yeah I agree he does not answer questions, comments at all on the Vols on Coach Matthews show on 104.5.

Not sure why.
When he first started doing the show they announced the guidelines right off the bat.

"I'm glad I don't have to deal with that mess in Knoxville today."

He's right, because when players got in trouble when he was here, he didn't deal with it.

This guy is a joke.

He was also on the Packman show in the carolinas today. When asked about discipline problems, he responded," You never want to brag on the discipline of your program because it will come back to bite you."

Timely.

Stay classy, Phil. I'm sure the Fulmerites will love that quote.

Fulmer never had the opportunity to brag about the discipline of the program.

Problem with that is that Fulmer COULDN'T brag on the discipline of his teams.

and if you mean "clean up messes" as "sweep under the rug and hope the problem goes away" then yes.

True. I guess what i meant to say is he had plenty of messes in his day because he never really cleaned them up more like just put a towel over the mess and hope nobody noticed.

As a 22 year old, the only Tenn coach I've ever really known until now is Fulmer. I used to think the world of him and thought he was a great guy/coach. I'm not going to question the integrity or character of the guy, but I'm getting the feeling that I'm going to feel about Fulmer the way a lot of people felt/feel about Majors when he got fired.

agreed im only 25 so im in the same boat. I love the guy but it's easier to look at his coaching job and critique him now that we see what another coach can do. Fulmer left kiffin with nothing absolutly nothing.Yet we can finish 9-4 this year. RESPECT HIM but KIFFIN IS THE MAN

I love Kiffin as much as the next fan and are happy we made the change but let's not overstate things here.

Our major contributors this year have not been Freshman this year.

Eric Berry, Rico McCoy, Dan Williams, Jonathan Crompton, Montario Hardesty, Luke Stocker, etc.

Kiffin has done a much better job of developing the players and utilizing them but let's not say Fulmer left him nothing when it appears that Eric Berry will be the #2 pick in the draft.

Fulmer's problem was never bringing in talent, it was the fact that the talent seemed to almost always regress during their 4 years in Knoxville

Completely agree and that's what i meant by he left us with nothing. Of course Kiffin had players that fulmer recruited but theses aren't the same players. With the exception of Berry who would be a beast NO MATTER WHAT even if RON ZOOK was coaching him, these are not the same players. Crompton had no confidence, NONE that was evident after the ucla game. and i feel like without kiffin ,RICO, g. jones, stocker, would never had reached what they have this year. these players had no confidence after last year. Kiffin bought into them and they bought into Kiffin.

Fulmer's recruiting was very good for the most part. But he had the same problem as Kiffin, Keeping the players out of trouble once they get to TN.

It's WAY to early to say Kiffin has any problems compared to Fulmer

Yeah that i don't get it. I know the top 3 things to do in knoxville are
1.drink
2.ut sports.
3.drink while watching ut sports

but cmon some of these players need to find a hobby or somethin
