Philip Fulmer on ESPN Bowl Coverage

That should be good. Cowherd certainly doesn't mind to ask tough questions.

I really can't think of a much less compelling TV presence than Fulmer was. He might get better with time, but that was very weak, especially looking at some offscreen monitor constantly.

I'd like to see him find a way to make it stick because there is some chance it would help UT in the long run, but I'll just have to avoid the show when he's on it.

I respect your opinion and right to it, but (to me) the guy gave quick, appropriate analysis during the highlights of each game (the toughest part of that gig, IMO) and seemed comfortable in front of a camera for his first stab at this. Not a bad audition for an old offensive lineman from Winchester. I believe he'll be back in Bristol in some capacity as an analyst unless he's offered a coaching job somewhere.

I totally disagree.

Does fulmer still get his full $6 mil buyout if he makes extra cash from these tV gigs?

Nothing earth shattering here by all means. Cowherd asked his opinion on some of the bowl games. Fulmer seemed to defend the Big Ten saying something to the affect that Penn State certainly seemed to have a lot of talented players when we played them (Outback Bowl I'm assuming). Colin asked if he would continue to follow/pull for UT and Phil replied "of course" he is "a Volunteer" and recruited all of these kids and Lane Kiffin had was not responsible for his firing. I'm not a Phil hater in any way shape or form but he did seem to be in denial a bit when asked about Florida. Phil said he was not "overly impressed" with the Gators after our matchup. He said we moved the ball well on them but really beat ourselves. This is true to an extent but I sensed some denial in voice. He did go on to say they had improved a lot over the season and expected them to beat Oklahoma. It was good to see Phil doing well and getting some national exposure.

Phil gave good insight and seemed comfortable doing the interview. She asked if he would coach in 2010 and he laughed the question off ( said he liked having no pressure )
