Florida will beat Tennessee in this week's toss-up game
Last week's Mississippi State pick made me 2-for-2 in my toss-up game predictions, and this week I am going to stay in the SEC for a third week in a row. The Florida Gators travel to Knoxville for a key SEC East game against the Tennessee Volunteers, with ESPN GameDay on hand. I do think the situation favors Tennessee, as they are coming off a game against an FCS team while Florida has to travel for the second week in a row after expending a lot of effort last week against Texas A&M.

However, I'm picking the Gators because they have a better defense and one of the best special team units in the country. I like what I saw from Florida quarterback Jeff Driskel last week and expect him to improve each week. While Tennessee did look impressive in their opening win over NC State two weeks ago, keep in mind that the Wolf Pack was only an 8-5 team last year in the ACC, and only beat Connecticut 10-7 last week. Despite being on the road, the Gators are the more talented team and will get another huge road win in a hostile environment.

Arkansas will stay close with Alabama, other Week 3 bold predictions - NCF - ESPN

well I think his talent asessment is off on the offensive side, overall I'd say FL does have us by a little bit, but not so much that the talent level of FL gives them a victory. FL offense has yet to show they can score often and be dependent on a very average passing game so far to date. mel kiper and todd mcshay just rated us very high from an offensive prespective and todd went on to say how we are probably the 3rd best passing game in the country only behind USC and WVa. bottom line we get up by 14 in the 3rd, I don't think florida can come back and stop us from scoring again with out us giving them back the ball this should seal a TN victory!

I love it. It just means more people are gonna go str8 into "wow" mode when we stomp Florida. No way this is a toss up game...we should win by a lot IMO.

We've got to bring our A-game, and Neyland has got to be the 12th man.

It's big boy football, now. Don't care how we do it, but WIN we must.

I dont know why everyone makes a point to state how bad NC State is or was last year yet not one person mentions Bowling Green.

I was listening to the BGSU vs UF game on the radio and thought that BGSU had a read shot to win. I mean its BOWLING GREEN. NCSU >>> BGSU

Good point. But, they followed that up with a decent performance at Texas A&M

Personally, I think NC State > TAMU too, but it was a decent road test for them

He also thinks Ark will stay close to Ala. I would be shocked if Ala doesnt win by 21+. This guy sells his picks for money and bases his picks off of trends and angles. A buddy of mine used to waste his money all the time buying his picks then losing money on betting them. He is very knowledgeable when it comes to football but he isnt very good with the picks he sells. I told my buddy I would give him picks for free and do just as good and doesnt waste his money buying them. Hoping he is wrong here as well.

fyp

I'm holding off from making any of my own predictions, but FL looked horrible in the first half of that game. Hooooorrrrriiiibblllee...

Buy his preview magazine every year and get pissed off every year because I think he has us rated too low. He's pretty much always spot on. Really think he missed this one. Vols in a close one.

Bowling Green could have won the game against Florida. What has T A&M proven? Our offense is superior to A&M and our defense is just as good or better. I think Florida keeps the game close on talent alone but TN is the better team at this point. 31 - 27 Vols!

I was about to post that "Wow!" will be the first words out of his mouth on Monday.

You beat me to it.

Phil's the best in the business, but even he gets stuff wrong, and pretty frequently at that. I just hope this is one of the picks he misses on.

And to be fair, he was very high on UF entering the year.
