Tennessee (-3) over Georgia: I used Tennessee twice already in this column, and the Volunteers won both times. They have another favorable matchup this week. The Vols started slowly, and things looked bleak last week against Florida, but they dominated the second half and will carry that momentum into this week’s meeting against the Bulldogs. Georgia is struggling on offense, and Tennessee is holding opponents to 120 yards per game below their season average. The Vols will win by more than a field goal.

That's the Shoopinator metric: keeping opponents more than a football field under their average.

If Butch and Debordinator let Dobbs ball too we will be rolling up on a crystal football.

I am soooo surprised that we beat Florida. Good things lay ahead for this team. I will step it up another notch should we beat A & M.
We go undefeated or lose one game this season and we are in the play offs. Hard to beat A & M and then beat "O" Bama once in the regular season and once in the S.E.C. Championship game.

I would have been shocked and disgusted had we lost that game. Having watched UF's performance in their previous games it was obvious they have some excellent players but are a mediocre team. It was thrilling to see that we finally aren't still mired in mediocrity ourselves.

Way to go Butch! You've got to love it when a plan comes together. Take 'em one week at a time, so let's go take care of business in Athens. Go Vols!

I do too. I still want one, but when it comes to design, the Battle at Bristol trophy is much better.

He--! Any design is better. Even a Wal-Mart plastic
"participation trophy" for your 5 year old future sport's MVP has as much class and good looks as that upside down ice cream cone.

I still think that is the ugliest trophy in all of sports

It looks like a lipstick tube. Don't worry tho, teams still get the crystal football (coaches' trophy) and the golden football (AP trophy) as long as they are ranked #1 in their final poll.

If they changed it to a Dr. Pepper bottle it would be just as good. Agree with you, ugliest ever. The crystal ball that came before was much better.

Well the bammers kept breaking that one at the walmarks so I guess the NCAA had to change it. Hopefully they are through hoisting it for a while!

I love the faith the coaches showed in Dobbs. 2 ints in the red zone and they are still letting him sling it with a 4th quarter lead. We were finally attacking the weak players. Tabor goes out and a back up covers Malone, pick on him until he shows he can defend him.

great point.

I've heard three UGA bloggers/beat writers talk about the Dawgs this week on Tennessee shows, and they all sound like this UGA team is in full rebuild mode and they don't expect to be able to hang with the Vols this weekend. This really is a game that we should win handily. As much as we've traditionally played down against the Gators, we've played over our heads whenever we play UGA. Other than 2010, we've hung within a score of these guys even in the depths of the Dooley years and aftermath while we were rebuilding. Now that we actually have a more talented and experienced roster, this really should be a comfortable win.
