Let's put it this way . . . Vandy, Kentucky and Ole Miss are clearly worse than we are. The question is, who is the 4th worst, at least on paper. We're definitely a candidate.

We'd all like to think that, but from the outside looking in, we havent seen an 8th win in 5 years and the last time anybody saw us, we were losing to Kentucky. We're clearly a "show me" team.

Phil Steele doesn't do his analysis based on past results, and is the main reason why I like him even when he doesn't put UT in there each year. He has already said he believes UT will win 9-10 games. I think a lot of people are going to be surprised to see where he ranks us.

Exactly. Personally, I think we win 8 or 9 and come close in a couple more, but a lot of things have to go right for that to happen.

I remember when Phil Steele had a three year streak of predicting the Heisman. Then he picked Casey to win it in 2002, I think. I still have that magazine somewhere.

That's what I want to happen to. And I'm happily anticipating the season. I am excited about a lot of things. But there is still a lot of things that are yet to be determined. So I'm just enjoying the ride.
