There was plenty of coverage of Peyton's presence on pay-per-view. There was no mention of Phil being at the game. I'm just curious if anyone knows if he was there.

I don't know if he was there. If he wasn't it was probably because he was too busy consoling Chris because he got cut by the Titans.

I don't believe he was there. Matt said after the game that he hadn't talked to his dad yet. His comment gave me the impression that Phil wasn't in the stadium.

Interesting. Phil must have been busy. I couldn't imagine missing my son's debut in big-time college football. I understand tickets were hard to find but I imagine Phil wouldn't have any trouble rounding up a couple...:)

I read in an article earlier this week that Matt mentioned his dad already had a flight scheduled so he could be at the game. I know his mom was there because Matt mentioned it would be the first time his mom had seen one of his games since high school.

with all the news of these QB's being cut yesterday, is any team in the NFL planning on carrying a backup this year?

I think from some of the announcers comments that Phil Sims was in attendance for his son's first Tennessee game.
