Actually he's been at many games this season. I look for him every home game, and he's there a lot sitting next to Vicki and Thunder Thorton.
Personally I think he is angling for the AD job....but do not agree now that it would be a good fit. I hope Dooley pans out for Hamilton's sake. Fulmer is good for UT and its nice to see him back on the court and hope to see him in the stands next fall.
lulz.. we have 2 losing records in 4 years... lose to vandy and wyoming... thanks to Phill=Up's recruiting or lack of, we're all but out of contention even for an SECE title any time before '12.. at least.... and the fulmer apologists are still carrying his water.... unreal
152 wins, two SEC championships and the school's only legitimate national championship since 1951. No one needs to apologize for Phil Fulmer and he doesn't need to apologize for himself.
And by the way...find a Tennessee coach who doesn't have a loss to Vandy on his record somewhere. It does happen sometimes. Majors lost a game to Vandy. Bill Battle lost to (and tied) Vandy, and so did Doug Dickey. Shoot, Bob Neyland lost to them three times and tied them twice. The only reason you're griping about it is because the same Phil Fulmer you're bashing spoiled you for so many years.
One thing Phil Fulmer doesn't have on his record, however, is a loss to Kenturkey. I'm glad he was at the game today.

was at the game today. He may have been forced out of coaching but he is still one of our biggest fans. Once a vol, always a vol!
5-8 (.385) vs. Spurrier: (3-3 since 1998)
0-4 (.000) vs. Meyer
3-4 (.429) vs. Richt
1-4 (.200) vs. Tuberville (at AUB after '98, 3-4 overall)
1-3 (.250) vs. Saban
1-2 (.333) vs. Miles
11-25 (.306) vs. above 6 coaches
I could pick out any famous coach's record against six others that I hand-picked and come out with similar results. I did that exercise once on here and made Bear Bryant and Tom Osborne look like the worst coaches who ever lived by hand-picking their record against people they had some trouble with. (Look up Bear's record against Bob Neyland...)
It's completely irrelevant to someone's whole body of work. We don't say Tom Osborne was lousy because he had a poor record against Barry Switzer, Jimmy Johnson and Bobby Bowden. And Phil Fulmer isn't lousy because he went 11-25 against four coaches who won a national championship, a fifth who will probably get one when Reggie Bush gets declared ineligible for '04, and another who's twice finished #2. He'd be lousy if he went 11-25 against six coaches who never won anything.
That's all I'm debating this subject tonight. Let's just say you'll be fortunate if you ever see another Tennessee football coach in your lifetime average 10 wins a season over 15 years.
