Phil Fulmer told Jimmy Haslam to kick rocks

Apparently, Haslam was all for Mel Tucker. Obviously, Fulmer thought otherwise.

This is just further info that Fulmer will do whats best for the program and not what Haslam says.

With the way Cleveland is playing, Haslam needs to move to Cleveland and take care of his little Brownies... and just Phil take care of the Vols. Then, let's see which team is doing better in two years.

Yep. All that shows is Haslam is still very much involved despite his brother lying about it and what was reported on here. Jimmy wasn’t marginalized at all. He’s still calling the shots.

His ego will not allow that. I honestly don't think he wants UT to be bad. His ego and power trip will not allow him to see that he sucks as a program builder and let other people who know better do the work

I actually think this a great strategy by Fulmer... whatever Haslam recommends, do the exact opposite... Haslam’s decision making when it comes to football speaks for itself, he flat out sucks at it... it’s as if he doesn’t know what football is. So get advice from Haslam on what he would do, then whatever you do... don’t do that, things should work out really well!!

Haslam made the hire. Fulmer sabotaged the deals with Brohm and then Leach because Haslam balked at buying them out. We were already on the hook financially for Jones and staff, the Schiano settlement, and Currie. Fulmer was Haslam's guest in New York for Peyton's induction. The two buried the hatchet when Haslam rehired Fulmer into the athletic department. Any attempt to paint Haslam and Fulmer as adversarial is blatant homerism. Fulmer is merely a stand-in chosen by Haslam. He knew Fulmer would be an opiate to the masses of Vol fans who were enraged by his first choice of Schiano for head coach. Jimmy Haslam runs UT PERIOD. He handpicked the president, the chancellor, and the athletic director. There's a lot of denial going on among Vol fans. I wish that the Schiano case or the Currie case would actually go to court to expose how a booster completely controls the AD, but both cases will be settled out of court to prevent that knowledge from coming to light. Oh well. We're The University of Alabama at Knoxville now. We'll see what happens. Memphis is quickly becoming the state's football power.
