Phil Fulmer coming up on Finebaum

Exactly, it does go back to those days, and then PF piled on when Fulmer and the Vols hit a rough patch. PF is not a Tennessee fan! (as much as he tries to portray himself as that at times when it is advantageous.) He focused the light on CPF during the investigation into Alabama's deplorable recruiting practices most notably in Memphis, but it was actually Steve Spurrier who turned Alabama in. Every coach in the Sec at the time knew what was going on in Memphis and testified against Alabama and they came within a rat's you know what of receiving the Death penalty!!! So don't let PF fool you. He may be the host of the flagship SEC TV show, but as far as Tennessee is concerned he is scum, and don't think for one second if we under perform this year he will be all over it!! However, great to see and hear from CFP on such an important day in the life of UT, and the State of Tennessee!

PF. Same initials for 2 diametrically opposite sports personalities.

3 or 4 years ago I was driving thru B-ham and some talk host had on the lead attorney for either the SEC or the NCAA concerning the "CPF / Albert Means / Turn in Bama / Destroy their Program scandal. He had just either retired or been cleared from a gag order in that old investigation. The bottom line is that the guy said CPF never had anything to do with turning them in whatsoever. The host was just like "wow, really, after all thaaaat". Attorney was basically like "yeah, we couldn't speak about it, but the entire thing was a weird charade".

Yet, to this day, when Fulmer is brought up, those in-breds still mention how he tried to bring the Tide down. Oh the humanity. :eek:lol:

My french bulldogs are jealous of Finebaum's ears.

I hope they do a replay of the show where we can catch it.

Finebaum has always seemed very proud of being a Tennessee Volunteer. As far as where his loyalty lands? He has no loyalty. He has always been a hitman in spirit, even back when all he was equipped with was a peashooter in the early 80's. Somebody was always getting it in the back in those B'ham sports pieces.

However, the network allows him to have great interviews, good current info and some funny context. I give him at least an hour headstart on the ole DVR. That eliminates commercials and all the Darrell's that are as bipolar as Mr. Finebaum himself.

I've heard him turn on Bama also, and praise UT.
I think he really is just a bipolar cheap shot artist.
Sometimes he starts out level about a subject and then makes himself mad the more he talks. Once he gets huffy, then the BS starts pouring out.

At least that's the way it used to be, I've probably only heard him maybe 5 times since he's had a TV show.

Finebaum just stated on his show it was Spurrier and not Fulmer who turned Bama in. Old news to us, but he threw it out there at a caller.

Dude is good at playing to his audience and doing it in the moment. His big shot in journalism came in Bama, and he made the most of it. Now, with a national stage, he's moderated and fires his shots in every direction.

You are exactly right! They hate CPF and they say it was because he turned them in, but really is was because he beat their #@* 7 or eight straight years and here was nothing they could do about it! They'll hate Butch Jones after this year too when we kick their butt in Knoxville! I can't tell you how many of them are planning on coming to Knoxville this year, and I hope they get their belly full of Hurd, Dobbs, Kamara, JRM, CS, and the rest of the Vols Defense! Then lets' see what Finebaum says! I can't say on here what I really think of him!
