PG play cost us this game

It also would have been nice if Lofton would have passed it to the wide open JuJuan Smith there at the end.

Well, with time running down, and people all up in your business and grabbing onto you from the floor I think I can look past it.

My goodness... during the same stretch that Howell has been 4-38 (Since the Florida game in Knoxville), he's just been 1-3 from the free throw line... for a point guard? Are you kidding?

I predicted that our PG play would kill us sooner or later, and one could argue that it did, today. Ditto on our late-game coverage of the post, and we also left way too many perimeter shooters with great looks. I'm also a little skeptical of our success with the trap. We were burned a bunch of times yesterday and today, and teams are learning what to do with the ball once they get it in bounds.

was it just me or did anyone else see the back of Lofton's jersey being pulled from behind as he was shooting that last shot????

38??? That's scary bad. You could close your eyes just before shooting and make 4 of 40--seriously. That's pantywaist because it says he doesn't have the mental toughness to focus and instead is mr. jitters. He also doesn't penetrate. He's a backup PG who, at a big-time program, would not be playing at all, maybe 4 minutes but instead is playing much more for the Vols because Ramar isn't very good either.

To me the Vols have been overachievers for two years--there are a lot of teams with as much talent as UT. It's a testament to Pearl, who's been great--but I'm a skeptic about his style of play and the NCAA tourney. High-offense, weak-defense teams tend not to go very far. Roy Williams has a very similar philosphy, but he's always got the best horses in college BB.

Howell shouldn't be allowed to shoot, period.

Ramar was 5-7 from the FT line. While Lofton was 6-8 and missed a critical one that ended up being the difference in the game. Pay attention to whose FT's matter the most and when if you're going to blame that on Ramar.

i'm glad someone else noticed that,if Ramar hadn't of missed those 2 we'd be singing his praises today....yeah and(choke) Lofton missed some big ones too

Just so I'm reading it right, are you calling Lofton a choker?

If you are saying that Lofton is a choke artist, then this is obviously the first basketball game you have ever watched since you moved here from the island of Borneo.

Didn't matter... that isn't why we lost the game. That, imo, would have been a pretty weak way to end the game, anyways... shooting free throws with no time on the clock.
