In college, the lack of legs will get you for sure as bigger bodies will wear him down. But, the coaches will certainly work on that. Sounds like a very promising young man!

What an odd thing to say. Clark Green and Scott are all ranked ahead of where Troy was (he averaged 7.5 min per game) and both Green and Scott are ranked ahead of where Dewayne was (and he avg 15 min per game). So “maybe” all three of Ralph Scott, Manny Green and Marquis Scott will get minutes based on rankings

I'm basing this off position and depth for next season. Unfortunately I think there was too much of a gap between Gillispie and Henderson (experience) for Henderson to get minutes. Barnes will play a freshmen if he needs too. DeWayne was needed because of Cade's injury. He got bumped up on the depth chart. I think Amari was always going to get more minutes BASED ON HIS RECRUIT RANKINGS and he ended up being the 6th man.
Of course rankings can be off and Barnes can see a guy that deserves more minutes. If Green or Clark gets minutes next year I think it's because we miss out on transfers. Even though ZZ got tons of minutes his freshmen year, I think it's more because Chandler couldn't handle the minutes or was just not as expected.

I don’t think ZZ got minutes because chandler underperformed. As I remember it, chandler played about as much as he could handle.

When listening to Barnes’ interviews, I think freshmen who play mostly earn their minutes opposed to being played due to lack of options. For example, CRB has said repeatedly that Brown was their biggest surprise this season and he earned his minutes as they were playing him before Phillips shut his season down.

ZZ and Chandler played a ton together in the last half of the season. ZZ was impressive

Kennedy played 31 mpg as a freshman. Zeigler earned his minutes after shining in big games early in the season when given the chance. That role increased bc Justin Powell wouldn't play defense. Then, it increased even more so when it became clear to move KC off ball more as he was the best scorer on the team by far

Agree. Whatever role they have their freshman yr, I like the different roles they fill. And mean no offense to any of them, I still expect CRB to try to big splash the portal. A proven shooter/scorer like Knecht 4 seems ideal.

Anything else is a fail.

I still don’t know how well Phillips can play more than 5 feet away from the basket. He puts forth the effort every time out, but his offensive skills are somewhat limited at the 10-15 foot range. Maybe he has improved his offensive skills during rehab. I hope so because he never takes a second off during a game.
