Peyton's Legacy

So now ppl are finger pointing at Manning? Give me a break! Blame Currie and HOH for this mess. Peyton just talked up UT to Gundy. If anything he's on our side trying to fix this mess Currie started with Schiano. No reports out there or any proof Peyton signed off on GS.

Hyams disagrees.

This is the kinda stuff that will always keep him away from an official UT role. 72 hours ago he had god like status, now after possibly signing off on a coaching hire his stock is tumbling. Can you imagine what would happen if he were a coach or in the AD and we get throttled? Half of the state would call for his head. Ill just keep my manning tinted glasses on.

Definitely. He's making his bed with the Haslam/Currie faction and is only tarnishing himself.

I mean its only a matter of time before crazy Al Haynesworth gets going with the line of "Peyton is blocking Tee from getting the job because Peyton is upset that Tee won a Natty"

Just wait.

I am not sure about A.H. and the tweeter but I am starting to blame Peyton for some of this mess. I wish he would not endorse anyone and stay out or get in and fix it.

I got my "I Back Pat" newsletter yesterday. On the second page sits a picture of Peyton, his wife, haslam and his wife. Makes me wonder if Peyton has not reached a level where the rest of us are just the stupid peasants.

Has this coaching search changed your view of Peyton Manning? First he approves the hire of Schiano then he is shooting down making any contact with Tee Martin.

IMO he is ruining his legacy the longer this goes on.

HE DID NOT HAVE A F$%#ING THING TO DO WITH THE SCHIANO FIASCO! STOP POSTING THIS BULL$H!T!

GTFO!

:thud:

Do people really think Peyton had a ton of influence in the Schiano decision? If he "signed off on it" he probably just didn't want to step on anyone's toes. It's not his decision on who gets hired and even if he did give his opinion, Currie would still hire who he wanted to.

Good to know people are still allowed to think for themselves. Yup, Peyton came back for his senior season, he represents the university, he’s funny on commercials.

Guess what, at the end of the day you’re going to do what’s best for you and yours.

If that means siding with the Haslams who by all accounts seem like stellar people then your going to do it. Even if that comes at the expense of your university.

Oh, big deal that Peyton is talking to Gundy he has an 8 million dollar decision. Is it really Peyton or the money that’s going to influence that decision.

Like someone said earlier we can agree to disagree and this will be flamed and a very unpopular opinion but you know what they say about opinions.

Have you heard either of these statements from Peyton's mouth?? If not, it's called hearsay. I haven't, & I don't believe a word coming from the administration or the media in Knoxville.

Now we have supposed Tennessee fans attacking Peyton Manning.

No wonder every other fan base, and the media in and out of sports, think Tennessee fans are just plain Stupid.

I do hope they heard Mullen's Gator introduction when he spoke Champions of Life and relentless.

Peyton has lived in a bubble world all of his life. I'm sure he views most if not all of Vol Nation as the unwashed masses. I'm sure he takes the collective opinion of this board with a grain of salt knowing that he probably knows more what is best for this football program than the hoi polloi. He will generally do the political bidding of his Haslam overlords.

Aren't you quoting one reporter about the Tee Martin bit? Haven't we learned better than that?

Still unclear about the Sciano sign-off. Certainly disappointing if true, but there's an awful lot of "me-too" reports citing other reports citing other reports going on.

From Volquest, coach Fulmer had no say on the Sciano offer. How do we know Peyton did? Haslam and his puppet, Currie, did that on their own. Also, I find it hard to believe Peyton would actually try to block Tee from getting a shot to interview for the HC job.
