Peyton To The Super Bowl...

in the eyes of some....that's exactly what would happen.

here's one for you...the stats below are of a qb...all time playoff records, including sb appearances:
ALL TIME 3rd highest Passer rating at 95.0 behind Bart Star and Joe Montana.......

ALL TIME higest yard per completion.......8.8

All TIME LONGEST PASS completion for TD......85 yards

Tied for all time most road wins in the playoffs.....with Roger Staubach and Len Dawson

2nd all time highest passer rating in a SB for qb starting his 1st SB at 113.6

Played in arguably the best Super Bowl ever played.

do you know who this guy is?

Jake Delhomme.

NO one ever remembers the loser of the spuer bowl, no matter how well you play in it, or, in most cases, how well you played on your way to it.

I remember SB 38. Panthers vs Patriots. Panthers were winning, BUT the Pats got the ball in the last 2 minutes of the game and they won by a field goal. The Pats have always been lucky. That game should have been won by the Panthers; I remember all those calls favoring the Pats. Same thing happened when they played the Eagles next season in SB 39. They won by a field goal in the last 2 minutes.

Jake Delhomme did good, but he can't be consistent, that's why little attention is/was paid towards him. Because McNair, McNabb, Marino, and other were "losers" but people do remember them very well. If the Panthers have done better after SB 38, I'm sure Delhomme would have a better reputation; but that team has been going downwards.

my only point is no one remembers who loses the super bowl and jake delhomme probably played the best football game he ever played, at any level, in the super bowl, but still lost.

had he won, and had the same results since, he'd likely of won the MVP of that game and probalby have a similar reputation as say, kurt warner? well, maybe not, but you get the idea.....

yep, you're right. JAllen. sorry about that, I was reading about Grossman playing in the 2003 Outback Bowl, which would have been after the 2002 season. Still, Clausen won twice in the Swamp while Peyton never won there. It's obvious who is the better QB though, and all this garbage about Peyton vs. Grossman being UT vs. UF redux is just silly.

Travis Stephens played one of the greatest games in UT history. That's a large part of the reason UT beat Florida that year. Grossman looked really good, even though they lost.

It wasn't close, to be honest.

The 2005 Colts defense wasn't that different than the 2006 defense that looked pathetic. Take away one linebacker and one defensive lineman. New England's defenses had way more playmakers and depth.

Go Bears! I, however, would be very happy to see Peyton hold the trophy should the Bears lose.

I think he has either one or zero TD catches in playoffs. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but that just doesn't compute. Two guys as in sync as PM and MH not getting at least a few receptions going in a playoff game....

They haven't been hooking up as much as you might think, but the secondaries have really been stacked up against Harisson and Wayne.

That said, MH did make a pretty nifty grab on that 2-point conversion.

Without that, do the Colts win that game???

I'm sure the commercials will be great, but the game will turn out to be predictable and by the second quarter it's going to be obvious who the better team is.

to win the game they need to throw down the middle:thumbsup:

That's not typical of the Colts' passing game. Peyton likes throwing the ball near the sidelines. I think it's safer, because whoever catches the ball can still run out of bounce if he is about to get tackled. Especially with the Bears' defense, which has the best record of turnovers.
