You never want your potential replacement, especially one so popular, walking with you on the sidelines. Anytime he would do something the fans don't like he knows what he would be hearing. He would never allow it to happen.

Really hope this isn't true. Don't want to see him be one of "those guys" who tries to hang on after it is clear he can't play anymore. He already is in that territory. Another season would be an utter disaster.

It couldn't possibly be any worse than watching Kobe Bryant shoot brick after brick for my 2 win Lakers right now.

Fwiw, I don't think Peyton will play next year. He just has too much pride to admit that he's done during the season.

Another sad example of a professional athlete's brain ignoring the bodies undeniable signals. I can't imagine anyone being surprised by this. His ego will ultimately diminish his legacy, as his skills continue to erode. GET A CLUE MAN.

I think PM needs to go out while he can. You never know what the next play might be. He has done everything a QB can do. Why not come back to UT and help rebuild instead of risking another injury. Money isnt a issue....

Funny, this is going to be like if Favre had come back after his last injury filled season.

Question though, say Osweiler does well the rest of the year and leads the team to say the AFC Championship at least; do the Broncos really want him back?

At this point, it's pretty clear there won't be another title in his future. He has more money than he can spend in a lifetime. Is he chasing records? Why? Brady will just break anything he sets. Man needs to accept that time stops for no one. Retire and get into the next chapter in his life.....preferably a return to Knoxville in a coaching capacity. Yeah....I'm a dreamer.

Drew Brees maybe but not Brady. Tom Brady is just 1 year younger than Peyton Manning. Drew Brees (age 36) already has 3,000 more yards passing than Brady (age 38) and is also 2 years younger and plays for a team that throws the ball 40 times a game.

The Broncos are very talented, and he's been a disaster since the end of the year last year. Can't imagine how bad he would look with another team

This season isn't done, yet....Broncos D will get them into the playoffs....PM needs time to heal a little....have some success in the playoffs....

If he somehow gets to the Super Bowl...or even the
AFC championship and plays well.....I'll think his Dad and older brother will have a lot to say to help him decide on next year.....

However--I think Elway will have a man to man with him and let him know that coming back to Denver will be only as a backup...not starter....

He is a competitor. In his mind he has to think he'll be back. If he feels like he can't play he'll retire. But no one should be surprised by this. He isn't a Brett Favre "look at me" kind of guy. His health will be a major factor in his decision.
I'd be surprised to see him say he is retiring. Not his style.

I figured Peyton will get healthy enough to play and give it one last playoff run. Won't believe anything in the media until Peyton says it.

Matt Hasselbeck has started 154 of a possible 266 games... my lord. So sorry. My problem was trying to give Peyton the benefit of why he is so physically messed up and Hasselbeck is starting.

Carson Palmer is playing the best of any QB in the league, so if he can be resurrected then so can Peyton Manning. Possibly.

Sorry kids. I know it's hard to give our guy credit. But TBH he's been out there a ton more than these two guys. Stats

Matt Hasselbeck 154 games
Carson Palmer 143 games
