Peyton Manning to miss entire season

So colts bandwagoners don't like the Titans because they were in Houston 15 years ago........but they're okay with cheering for the Baltimore Colts because they temporarily have a quarterback that played at the local university for 3 and a half out of 100 years.

Cheering for one player seems way more shallow than cheering for a team that has been representing your state for 15 years. Peyton wont be here in 10 years, the Titans will.

The Titans are way more popular than the vols. Sorry to burst your bubble. The vols are the most popular in east TN, the least populated area of Tennessee.

Yeah this is why lp field is 2/3 the size of neyland

LOL. There's always THAT argument. Do some research and find out how many NFL stadiums seat more than 100k. I'll wait.

Yes, I like Nashville but hate dealing with all the Titans fans and Titans talk all the time. What's worse is having them on every freaking Sunday.

Go figure. Locals root for the hometown team. Hard concept to understand, I know.

I prefer college ball over the NFL, and the Vols are my team over the Titans. With that said, the Titans are my favorite NFL team and have a ton of support. Their games pull higher ratings than the Vols on a consistant basis. I do think it's a fair statement to say the Titans are more popular in TN than the Vols.

Maybe it's a coincindence, but the Neyland capacity issues bagan when the Titans arrived in Nashville.

FWIW, the Titans played at Vandy their first year in Nashville and got virtually no support there either. Their support started when they had their own stadium in Nashville. I was at the first game in the stadium which was against the Bengals. I remember being more excited about seeing the Pride of the Southland at half time as a celebration of the 98 National title than watching the Titans. By the end of the game, I was hooked on the Titans though. They were no longer the Houston Oilers at that point.

You know, this statement is so funny.

It's like a Bammer living in Powell *****ing about all the Vols fans.

The Titans have sold out every game for 12 years with a 30k plus season ticket waiting list. UT is begging people to buy season tickets.

The Titans are hugely popular in Kentucky and parts of other border states. The Titans are in the NFL , a much more popular league than the NCAA with better television ratings.

There is nothing incorrect about what I said.

There is a difference in a sold out stadium and a full stadium. You need me to explain to you the difference?

didnt he just get a big pay day? seems like this has to be a sign he's getting close to being done

would like to see a link there. Also how much competition is there in TN for titans games on tv? How much for a UT game?

I'll see what I can find with google. They report the TV ratings on local sports talk regularly, and the Titans' numbers are always higher than Vols' games, and this includes the big rivals such as Bama and FL.

You REALLY think the Titans are more popular than the Vols?:lolabove::lolabove:

I've been to Titans games. The fans seem out of it and they really just act like it's a social event. They all know that they aren't really a Tennessee team anyways.
