Peyton Manning to ____? (merged)

Michael Crabtree, randy moss, Vernon Davis. plus a solid rushing attack. I think Peyton would have plenty to work with.
The same Randy Moss who was cut by three NFL teams in his last season. Crabtree is a possession receiver and Mario Manningham is a #3 receiver at best.

Put Peyton on the Niners and Green Bay can keep doing discount double check commercials while San Fran is winning Super Bowls....that said, they entire returning home to Tennessee and potential ownership rights or whatever after his career would be almost impossible for anyone to turn down.

It is being reported that Alex Smith is visiting the Dolphins today. Sounds like Manning to the 49ers.

They were going to let Smith "explore" free agency, before all this manning stuff, so at the very least as to bring down the amount of money he was demanding (after seeing how there wouldn't really be that heavy a market for him).

Why does this somehow signal "up, manning's going to San Francisco"? He was already a free agent, this isn't like the team cut him from a contract.

If anything it just means that the 49ers are in a dangerous position if they don't get Peyton manning, because they may well end up without a QB at all.

considering harbaugh's ability to turn the niners around in one season and getting the entire team to buy into his philosophy, I'm cautiously optimistic about his ability to control and encourage moss.

I think they should just go after mike wallace.

Here is the thread of tweets by Shannon Sharpe. I would venture to say that his source, whom he says is rarely wrong, is Elway or Bowlen.

Glad you posted that, I was hoping someone did.

Also the main guys dropping News in Denver has changed his tune to the Titans too. Of course the cyrpt keeper has been saying Titans.

Davis is a beast, and the RB situation is a wash. Titans have the most offensive weapons, 49ers aren't too far behind though. A healthy Britt trumps all.

Agree. Britt is fantastic. If he hadn't gone out with an injury early last year, people would be all over his nuts and we wouldve made the playoffs

Two "type A" personalities. I will be shocked if he is there at years end.

What harbaugh did with the niners last year was impressive but anything less than 13 wins or a Super Bowl next year will be a let down and chances are that will be the case. It will be interesting how well the locker room buys in If that's the case, particularly with the addition of guys like moss.

Alot of buzz Manning to the niners. Sounds like the decision has been made. If true, ill be happy for him, he'll finally have a defense to support his offense.

Its a shame he isn't going there huh? You must be A 49ers fan.

born and bred niners fan.

I think it'd be tough not to go to sf, especially b/c Peyton would be another hall of fame quarterback to put on the red and gold and bring the lombardi trophy back to sf.

Just raided the 49ers forums, they seem to be a mirror image of us. Some hopeful, some confident, some totally convinced he signs with the Titans. I just want this to be over. It's starting to feel like he's hanging out here to enjoy the love of Tennessee one last time, because you just know some idiots are actually going to turn on him if he signs somewhere else.
