As stated in the video, "he was the ultimate competitor who led by example"!

That first play touchdown against Alabama sent chills down my spine! That is one play I'll never forget!

Also, what an outstanding group of receivers and supporting cast on the whole team!

You would have to know my dad to know how funny it was when at the game right after the play happened, a couple of bammers got up to go to the concessions and he said loudly and in only a way he could surrounded by bammers "Ya'll leaving already, we're just getting started". The looks on everyone's faces were priceless. Absolutely the best game, I have ever attended.

I remember every one of those plays shown in this post. I also remember driving to Knoxville from Atlanta and seeing banners across I-75 stating "Welcome to Payten's Place. I know the atmosphere which Tennessee created during those years will again return to Neyland Stadium in the near furure. It is a given.

That's the same observation that struck me. So many big, fast receivers then! How many times did they break the first tackle, then were off to the endzone!
