Peyton Manning says he'd consider coaching QBs at Tennessee - Sep. 3, 2015

Butch is scared, egotistical etc? If only you guys could really read minds LMAO!

Man, I would probably get slap by a few ladies at the gym if they could do that but in my opinion they should look at it as compliment and a man's appreciation of the female form.:)

And what is Peyton--GOAT--going to tell our quarterbacks about running read-option plays?

Peyton can do an outstanding job guiding and mentoring in a variety of areas in and outside of football--but coaching QBs in our offense is not one of them.

Be real. Think. Give it a rest.

Butch made it known he has no interest whatsoever in Peyton being on the staff...which was just another example of his brilliance (blue font). This could make Butch a legend. First of all, recruiting would go through the roof. Secondly, we have one of the greatest offensive minds ever coaching the qbs. It'd be a fans dream. But we have an utter Moran for a coach who'd rather fail than get help from someone else.

Spell check is your friend. Calling someone "Moran", when I assume you meant to say moron, kind of weaken your case plus reverses the insult.

So Peyton wouldn't become head coach because our fan base always hates the head coach. Which is true. We haven't not hated the head coach in over a decade. And even before that there were fans that didn't like the head coach.

Well....we've never fired a coach after a 10 win season......like the bammites....
True, but we do have a noticable minority that post on here that would just love to fire a coach that resurrected our program from it's worst down period in program history after winning 9 games the past two seasons...

I just talked to my buddy Peyton who I know well. He's coming! ... and I get to catch the balls the receivers throw back to the QBs. I'm starting practicing for a career swap from a retired engineer to a pro WR.

I never said it was or was not happening. The thread is more about how he said he would coach QBs, yet it hasn't been discussed.

Maybe most think it is not a realistic scenario. I thought it was worth discussing, since the idea came straight from his mouth.

P.S. Don't buy a Rolls-Royce, my last two leaked oil like crazy.

Perspective. What is Peyton going to say on national radio to a question like that? It sounded tongue in cheek to me because Peyton is able to pull that off and be the good guy to everybody. Really only some portion of our fanbase believes that he'd do it one year removed from the NFL.

What do you do if you win the lottery tomorrow? "Shucks, I'm applying for the qb coaching job at UT!"

Alright grammar police. Spell checker is what got me in this place to begin with. Look at the spelling...do you think I would have capitalized moron? Spell check changed it to a name "Moran". I need to turn it off.

Man... I just don't see Butch bringing in someone bigger than him. Wait, what... well, you know what I mean. Highly acclaimed, accomplished, regarded, famous, could run the program, etc.

Are implying that Butch is not a Champion of Life?

Butch isn't going to hire a guy that every media source will want access to instead of him. After practice? PM After game? PM

I will say PM would be better at the coach speak and I GUARANTEE you that the phrase 'work like heck' would be said at least once lol.

Bottom line, everyone knows how insecure Jones is (he keeps a list if someone hurts his feelings for goodness sake). Does anyone think hiring PM would make Butch feel more secure? He would have to make PM off limits to the media and who wants that? Otherwise, he would dispel anything Manning said to stroke his ego. Haney was right about that.

For me, My thoughts however would be that PM is a lifeline and would buy me time. It would reenergize the fanbase AND recruiting. QB struggles? Well, PM is in 1st year, etc. be honest, be hard to fire me bc you would be essentially firing PM, the golden child.

Yeah because as soon as Butch starts doing a little bad. They'll call for his head to be replaced by Peyton

Let the QB suck, and he will find out real fast how long he can stay under the radar as a position coach. He's obviously had his head buried in the sand the last four years in regards to CDM, CZA and CWM. If he's that naive stay the h__l away from UT.

Peyton cheers for us and attends the games, so I wonder why he hasn't offered to take the QB coach position. It would be simple for him and he could do it for a few years and move on to management, etc once he is ready to move on.

And to be honest, the biggest reason I want him is because he would immediately attract recruits. Trevor Lawrence would definitely give us another look and I would be willing to bet money he would come here is we had Peyton. Peyton would bring this team up a notch for sure.

I agree. So Larry Scott as OC and good ol Peyton Manning as QB coach and everyone wins, including CBJ!?! I love it and would take it in a heartbeat. You would have every position player wanting to come to Tennessee just because he's our QB coach. Most recruits that don't know anything about UT say the only thing they know is Peyton Manning went here. Now, imagine if he is one of our coaches, no more problems at the QB position for his entire tenure!
