Peyton Manning OC

i love the idiots that get on here just to bash the thread. If you don't like it why take the time to read it let alone post on it. you act like Its such an inconvience that you have to look at it on the main page. I think itd be pretty bada$$ to have peyton on our coaching staff.

Seen a lot of thread bashing this month with your 6 post or you just a troll?

With the injury the time for him to move on to the next step in his career is looming. So what do people think. I mean yeah he was a great QB here and a legendary QB in the NFL. Thing is through his career in indy he has coaching has been such an obvious next step for him. More-so than any player I have ever seen him not coaching after the game is kinda unimaginable.

My thing is I think he would be a much better NFL coach than a college coach. I don't think a High school kid could do what he would want him to do. Heck I don't think many guys inthe league could do what he does.

Love him or hate him there is no single player in the NFL more crucial for his teams success than manning. Seriously even their defense is built around what the offense does. The argument has been had in many bars what would happen in Indy if he goes down and now we are seeing. Brady went down and NE still chugged along, because as great a QB as Brady obviously is the system plays a big part there and you can plug another QB in it and expect at least a modicum of success. Indy ain't that offense there is only one dude that can run it.

So lets play it out in our minds in this thread. If he retires and decides to come to UT eventually how do you see it turning out? No way you push Chaney out of the way for him out of the blue but honestly Chaney and Wilcox are here until they get a head coaching gig so 2-3 more years at best. I can see him coming in as say a QB coach and being groomed for the job.

I would kinda rather beat Florida, so no!

Keshawn Johnson said on ESPN the other day that the Colts would lose the most games this year because the HEAD COACH is having therapy on his neck!!!

Peyton as a coach. Hell no. But I could see him as an asset in recruiting. Wouldn't be a full time job, perhaps a friendly visit to a quality 5* leaner every now and then. Lot's of mothers would approve!:p

I'm sure Jim Caldwell (I think?) is glad to hear that...

1. We could not pay him the money he would want.
2. A great player does not always make a great coach.
I would love to see him come back, i just don't think it will happen

Peyton would be a great coach... Look at Captain Comeback.. If you dont know who that is then I really am too old...LOL

He will be back in the NFL next season - The Colts are showing they are a bunch of pansies and a 1 man team - The owner - GM - coaches should be ashamed.

I see what the OP is saying here. Don't take him literally. Haven't you ever wondered where you would spend your $200 million lottery winnings? It's just fantasy, but I would love him as OC at UT. He, of course, wouldn't do it for the money. A hobby maybe? He could even be the T. Boone Pickens of UT!

Haha, whether he likes it or not, it's pretty much the truth.

No special teams on the Colts.

Haven't seen anything resembling a defense or running game in YEARS!

Manning will go to the Broadcast booth at first. He may eventually get into coaching but I see him as a qb coach and then offensive coordinator at the pro level. He may eventually want to be a head coach but that us several years away. It is way too early to be discussing this.

Jim Chaney being a head coach within 2-3 years is about as likely as Peyton Manning being our offensive coordinator.

come on ppl!!! Manning is NOT retired yet!!! He prob wont for another 10 yrs...hes that stubborn. Ok he is out for this yr most likely, but he will be back next yr and Indy will have the Lottery pick of the draft and Andrew Luck will be groomed to be Manning's successor. Way I see it, Manning has played now 13 yrs..barring another major injury that requires surgery, he could play another 5-6 yrs at a decent level, even if they never make the SB again...by the time he does retire, all the Favre records will be dust by the time Manning has broken and SHATTERED them all!!! lol let the guy heal first before you talk about him leaving the NFL...WTF!!!
