It can't be hammered in that the Jets had, across all boards, the best Defense in the NFL.
Manning didn't just outsmart the Jets... he abused the Jets. He took a couple of sacks to produce looks that led to keyholing their scheme. About halfway through the second quarter Manning had them. He keyed in on their blitz packages and just demolished them. Ridiculous.
For as much as I hate the Colts, I am glad to see that Manning has finally stopped choking in big games. Basically every big game he's played in for the past 3 or 4 years, the Colts have won. Too bad he couldn't get that out of his system while he was still here in Knoxville.
Or maybe football is played by 11 guys on the field and not just 1. He did win a SEC Championship here and is one of the most successful QBs in college football history.
Absolutely, I could not agree more. The rest of the Colts offensive players get overlooked, except maybe Wayne and Clark.
Peyton proved this year that he could be successful with anyone at receiver. Collie and Garcon? Please. Nobody wanted those guys, yet Peyton can win a SB with them, hopefully. Do you really think they'd have progressed to this level without Peyton coaching them up all year? It's like having the best OC in the league starting at QB.
I would guess Brees was a 3 star, maybe 4.
earned All-American honors at Purdue one of only two Division I schools to offer him a scholarship...only Purdues Joe Tiller and Kentuckys Hal Mumme offered Brees a scholarship
