Peyton Knows.... SIAP

A big nothingburger. We don't need any more distractions after the stair walking comment.

This isnt even the wilted lettuce on a nothingburger. This is just media just doing its thing - and they wonder why we have absolutely no trust in them whatsoever.

Of course CJH knows who he is starting. Of course he told Peyton in confidence. Of course he told the media to piss off because he has no need to let anyone know until game day.

Yeah, Calhoun is a just born idiot if he even thought for a second that Peyton was going to betray the trust placed in him with that information.
Also to come out and call a man a liar is kind of a low blow, even for a trolling internet jockey.

And it's so obvious Peyton is joking. Only media people could take an obvious joke comment and then try to turn it "super-cereal"!

Chill ... Peyton Manning is legendarily synonymous with 'messing around' ... Peyton is referred to as 'the king of pranks': He 'flashed as a joke', look at his commercials, ... here are a few more ... "
  • Peyton switched switched the pants of Jeff Saturday and Adam Meadows.
  • Adam Vinatieri, Manning's teammate :He didn't care who you were, Peyton would prank you if he could.
  • Peyton filled like a 50-gallon trash can with water and propped it up against Pat Angerer's door and knocked on Pat's door. Pat, opened the door, and a tidal wave of water went crashing into his room.
  • Jay Glazer. Peyton pranked him several times ... one time by getting guys to get naked in front of Jay.
  • "Pranks and practical jokes were part of our culture..."
  • "Eli (Manning) can put your phone in German in 7 seconds" ... shows his love for pranks
  • There's the time he gave Eric Decker an invoice (it was fake) for $3217.50 work working out at Duke.
  • And let's not forget he hosted SNL ... right
The Peyton Manning you didn't know: From pranks to deejaying and more

And on top of that he is a world class 'trash talker.'

You might be able to find maybe 3-4 years where a national champion team didn’t have a dominate qb….. it is by far the most important position on the field.
I'd bet it's more than 3-4 years. QB is extremely important but most people on this forum only look at the QB and not at how the other 21+ guys can affect the success of the QB.

Alabama’s 6 national championships under Saban have had not one Quarterback that has been a starter in the NFL for more than two years . Jones might be the only one smart enough to make it and time will tell with him even. College career doesn’t determine success in the NFL. YOU MUST HAVE VERY GOOD DEFENSIVE AND OFFENSIVE LINES TO WIN IT ALL.

Is your argument that QB isn't the most important position or that a mediocre QB can win a natty with a juggernaut roster surrounding him?

Everyone wants to know. No one needs to know outside the building. Peyton, yeah, he gets a pass.

Why would Heupel announce it early and give BG a chance to tweak their game plan?

Patience, Grasshopper!

I disagree. Is QB important? Yes. The most? No. Take our 1998 title year. We had mediocre QB play yet still won. Plenty of teams have won championships with mediocre QB play.
I understand your point but football isn’t played like that anymore. We ran a huge portion of our plays out of the I formation and so did everyone else, if you weren’t Spurrier, Peyton or Nebraska the key to victory was generally adequate offense minimal turnovers and good defense. Now days with the use of 3 to 4 receiver sets if you don’t have a QB that can produce you are screwed. It’s been about a decade since a team has won with just average QB play. The game has changed drastically

One of only two players to touch the ball every offensive snap.

So the center is the second most important guy on the team? Or nah?

Media is big time butt hurt that AD Danny White and CJH have plugged most of the leaks imo. Practice is now closed and they don't have much to write about except the annual coach's wife tailgate recipes.

Barb's Big Orange Spaghetti Casserole is the bomb!

I hope he freaking puts in Jimmy Holliday at QB on the first snap, and then brings in Milton just to spite us. I feel bad for Heup and the QBs. We cant just leave it alone.

You think it’s bad now? Wait until the starting QB (whomever it is), has a bad game. Some “fans” will be turning on him calling him garbage.

Kind of hard to run a play if the ball isn't snapped.

Using your argument, then why didn’t Peyton ever win us a National Championship? It is a team sport, not an individual. There are so many quarterbacks that have been made to look good because of the o-line. If you do not have quality TE/WR, it really doesn’t matter how great you can throw. I have witnessed many wideouts save horrible throws by their quarterback. Look at Bama, they have won multiple titles with average quarterback play. The other players carried the team.

You are beating a dead horse. There are some that just cannot understand the fact that you need 22 players to win. Not 1.
