Peyton is on fire!

I'm relatively indifferent to what becomes of UT's players after they venture out into the NFL (unless they play for the Falcons, which nobody except for the ill-fated Peerless Price ever does), but I'm not sure that you can just say "Statboy!" anymore to a guy with a Super Bowl ring.

No question he was Statboy in college; I was not exactly broken-hearted to see him graduate. But he's just a great freaking QB now.

Does Peyton still play for UT?

Peyton has been a very big supporter of the football program despite graduating. There are numerous stories of his loyalty to the orange and white, and the difference in the way he treats fans of his alma mater. I tend to think the Peyton infatuation can be a little much, but at the very least I suppose I can understand why people are still fascinated by him.

No, he doesn't, but he still represents our university very well. It's hard not to root for a guy who gave his all for UT for four years and has nothing but good things to say about UT once he gets to the NFL.

He still did more at UT than almost any other QB.
Depends on what you mean by "did more." He led UT to one SEC title and one major bowl appearance.

Andy Kelly led UT to two SEC titles and three major bowls (and won two of them). Tee Martin led UT to an SEC title, a national championship and two major bowls. One could easily say those men "did more" at UT than Manning did.

Peyton Manning was a great player who helped UT win a lot of games and put up a lot of big numbers. He's excelled in the NFL and he was, and remains, an excellent ambassador for the UT football program. But some people never seem to put what he did on the field here into perspective.

Last night was the first time I've seen Peyton live in an NFL game. I wore an orange #16 jersey. Without Addai and Harrison, he had an incredible game - perfect placement on his throws.

I was actually a tad disappointed when the defense won the game with the INT return. I was hoping for a GW drive by Peyton.
