Not remotely comparable. Michael Richards was not in a roast situation and simply lost his mind yelling at a heckler.
Wtf are you talking about? He said she's a horse. He didn't say anything about her ethnicity, gender, religion, politics, etc...somehow you are trying to make this into an argument about political correctness, but you are making false comparisons and even if they were valid you are still completely wrong.
A roast is nothing more than comedians and celebrities making fun of one another. Richards was doing stand up which is basically the same thing except there is only one comedian who is making fun of other comedians and celebrities (who aren't there), people in the crowd, and society as a whole. Not much difference

Huge difference.. Richards wasn't making fun of them. They had heckled him and he flat out called them nig**ers if I recall correctly..... Out of anger...
I agree he was out of bounds, no argument here. Some guy earlier said that almost anything was in bounds at roasts and I was just making the point there isn't a whole lot of difference in a roast and a stand up act and that if Richards can be blacklisted for calling someone a derogatory name because of their race, something they can't control, why is it alright to make fun of Coulter's long face, something she can't control.
But seriously, I've seen all the roasts except for this one. Calling someone a horseface is perhaps the least offensive insult that has ever been uttered at one of these things. It barely registers on a scale of one to ten compared to some of the vile (and hilarious) stuff that gets thrown out at a roast. OP seriously has blatantly never seen one before and only heard about this through his Ann Coulter newsletter.
I fully understand the concept of a roast. This roast was supposed to be for Rob Lowe but descended into a somewhat of Ann Coulter of which Peyton joined in on. Imagine the media firestorm that would have come his way if he had compared a African American to an ape, a Mexican to a field rat, or a Jew to a snake. She is fair game in media's eyes because she is a straight white conservative Christian woman and imo he should not have piled on, but I guess the thought of receiving the applause of Hollywood became just too tempting.
Because Coulter could control whether she showed up and sat on stage. You show up; you get the publicity; you get made fun of. That's the deal and she knew it. Compared to the shots I've seen Charlie Sheen, Bridette Nielsen and Lisa Lampanelli take, this looks like a knock knock joke.I agree he was out of bounds, no argument here.
