Yes, UT is a crappy men's bball job. It was a miracle that Pearl turned it around the way he did. Will be another 20 years before we get that lucky again.

We didn't hire that good of a coach in the nearly 100 years before Pearl, so what makes you think we can hire one now?

Historically we are a slightly above average program. It's not that it's a bad job, it's just that the AD isn't willing to spend the $$$ for a great hire IMO.

Nevermiind that roughly 5 years before Pearl, we were winning at the same clip.

I love me some Bruce, and would be excited if he came back. I'm tired of a dull, boring coach who won't promote the program or the Power T. He doesn't seem like he LOVEs being here. I want a good coach who is sold out for UT. We'll pay him like a king, but he better be the kingdom's #1 advocate in return. Yes, like Bruce did in basketball before and like Butch is doing in football now.

That said, I suspect Bruce may have a ceiling and that he hit it when he was here before. Things were not still climbing when he was fired. There was trouble brewing on the court. So, considering that, I am open to him coming back but I'm also open to finding a more technically sound coach. Either way, the new coach must have energy and enthusiasm. PLEASE

I like Zo as a man but I'm over him as a coach.

So I'd like to start a petition too. It's a little less formal, but hereto forth, I think threads such as these should be called #Brumors. We had the Grumors with Gruden, so why not.

Who's with me?!

This is a little premature. Let's at least wait until after the season. Not saying it isn't valid. But, I don't think Pearl will ever be re-hired however I'd still sign it.

What the hell are you talking about? Didn't we go to the tournament like 5 consecutive years or something. We haven't went once under Martin. Just a flat out dumb comment!

This is silly. An online petition won't bring Bruce back. I'm pretty sure that the Powers that be understand that a lot of our fan base loves Bruce. I doubt that changes anything.

So you guys think that Tennessee is the only team in the conference that has announced sales instead of attendance? If we announce 12,000 but only 6,000 show up, how many people do you think are going to games at the schools that only announce 6,000 to begin with? The attendance situation at UT during the dark years that you guys are boo-hooing was something other schools would kill for.

Point being that, contrary to what a lot of people seem to believe, Bruce Pearl did not conjure up enthusiasm for Tennessee basketball out of thin air. We have always supported basketball better than any team in the conference except those Fers up north. And this notion that he's the only coach in the world who can bring the excitement back is just silly.

Of course not. They're all highly-paid suits who think they know what's right for the University and its athletics program, even though the solution is literally in their own backyard.

Like most bureaucrats, executives, and CEOs, they're clueless and will suffer no ill-consequences for failure because of golden parachutes.

Not for the price Tennessee has shown its willing to pay. Bruce almost assuredly come back much cheaper than his last contract year here.

I can roll with this but huge difference. With Gruden some including myself I must admit thought he was coming. With Bruce we dont believe administration is intelligent enough to bring him back. We jyst hope to stir the pot and irritate them till they concede.
