I haven't clicked on the link yet, but I'm guessing with this petition there is also a NBA rookie sized cheque attatched to it? This guy deserves to get payed. Let's not be selfish and try to stop him from playing at the next level even if it's not serious. He's rated the 5th best player of this tournament. That's pretty legit. He deserves our support no matter what he does, not a petition.

I would hate for him to be projected very highly, as he is now, and him remain here an additional season and have a senior season like A. Foster did and his draft stock fall.....

However; should we have a good season next year and the missing link to being a great presence crashing the boards, I would hate that he left....

probably the wrong place to ask this but i was tryin to find a stokes thread with some traffic and this was the best one. who does he remind yall of as far as nba greats? ive been struggling to think on one other than maybe Karl Malone? that may be waaay off base but their immense strength and how they dominated the boards with it despite being a little short is what made me think of it. they both have a decent mid range, though i think malone had better touch. both are pretty solid passers and both are almost identical in size. what do yall think?

A former NBA scout is on the Basilio show right now. He says he can rattle off 30 to 40 names of kids who would get drafted before Stokes without taking a breath.

He says that Stokes should come back and work on his outside shot and shoot above 70% from the stripe. He says Stokes has to be able to play away from the basket to play in the NBA and because he's 6'-7" or 6'-8" he can't score over guys with length and needs to be able to play facing the basket.

I thought he was well over 70% from the stripe? I think he has the ability to hit the mid-range jumper but with his role on this team (especially next year if he returns) he just won't have the chance to develop it further

He was at one point.

I just looked it up and he's actually 159-228 .697 per UT sports so I wonder if the scout is talking about his career numbers at UT.

He said that in passing though. He is more concerned about Stokes size and his outside game or lack thereof.

The guy said he would hope that Stokes returns and continues to improve.

its amazing after you sign a petition of any kind that you get emails about petitions. I think I've signed 15-20 over the past few weeks. I've never signed a petition, did once, now I have petition issues.
