If we were actually down to these 2 men as viable options(as in we can have either one we choose) then im a happy camper.

Either would be awesome to have, CP is the more proven NCAA coach and JG is the bigger name with every NFL connection a player would want, but as a TN fan that just watched us hire Dooley, Butch, and Schiano, i would be tickled sh!tless to have either as an option and wouldnt be hurt no matter which option we went with.

I'm a Grudenite, but Petersen is far and away the best coach in college football not named Saban, Swinney or Meyer and one could argue he is better, having done less with more.

So Petersen or Gruden? Yes.

Gruden gives that instant recognizable face to your program, BUT...Petersen is more of the long term "sure thing." Id trust Petersen with the program in a heartbeat. The man wins. Plain and simple.

I would bet my life he is better than Meyer if there was a way to prove it. And probably better than Dabo.
