maybe they need to go back north where they fit. Not stay here where they don't. The BOT needs to be more serious about interviewing and do a lot of background on the spouse as well....It is not a one person job when dealing with donors and alumni. Yes Andy Holt was political but political for the University interest not his own....I am proud to have his signature on my diploma.

Here is an AP article via Tri-Cities and this was also mentioned yesterday evening on Ch 4 News in Nashville.

Documents released Monday in response to an open-records request from WBIR-TV say Laura Morris of Franklin resigned as chairman of the UT Alliance of Women Philanthropists.

In her resignation letter, Morris writes that it became clear during a “humiliating discussion” with Carol Petersen last month that her “leadership is no longer needed and most especially not wanted.“

The letter does not disclose the nature of the problem. But UT Trustees Vice Chairman Jim Murphy has told Petersen that his wife can’t have any contact with donors until the president comes up with a plan to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

A statement from Peterson’s office says an apology has been given to Morris and her husband.

The petersens need to hit the road and go back up north with all the other southern-hating group. UT has paid them enough for nothing.

My goodness... Petersen could leave and the next guy could hire his own AD... with Fulmer waiting in the wings.

Goodness... the next coach could be in a world of hurt if Fulmer cries himself into the AD spot...

Just think about the finalists for the UT job though. Wasn't one of the finalists a woman who hyphenated her name, using both her and her husband's surnames? A sure sign of trouble there. Some would say hyphenated surnames for a woman are a sign of independence and others would say it is a sign of defiance.

I dated a chick last year with some strange hyphenated name. Very wild--so maybe that description fits. She was very "liberated."

I wonder how anyone in a state like Tennessee could like Petersen. Especially since his agenda appears to be to bring the other UT campuses up a notch and degrade UTK in the process. Mediocrity through socialism. Lovely. And we are still one of the few schools in the that doesn't get its own tv ad when our sports teams play. We get a UT system ad. Even UTC had a campus-specific commercial on about 4 times when we played. The Vols would have nothing at all to do with UTK if Petersen had anything to do with it.
