Peterman Transferring?

There is a big difference between a number two QB and the heir apparent to the starting job. Peterman will not be a starter, but could easily be the best option if Dobbs was to get hurt.

Peterman is enrolled in graduate classes, he's not leaving.

Two years now you guys have gotten to know Butch Jones and you should know by now he's not letting a freshmen lead the offense at UT unless he's FORCED to.

Nathan Peterman Still Enrolled At Tennessee

Hendrix is enrolled in Spring classes, also. Fall enrollment is what matters for next season, not spring. Really silly not to stay and transfer with more credits or a degree--scholarship pays for both semesters.

They gone. Just saying. Maybe something will change, but don't count on it.

They don't have to wait they are both already here.

Yeah, they were both here, but classes hadn't met yet. Harder to transfer if already enrolled in classes. Not that either was/is going to transfer.

Sheriron Jones was saying he was going to announce in late January. I was just saying it was going to happen sooner.

Numbers are not exclusive anymore. You just can't have two with the same number participating in the game at the same time.

You can have 2 players with the same number if 1 plays offense and 1 plays defense. Pretty sure you can't have 2 qbs with the same number.

Can't believe some peoples hate for Peterman. I get that he was terrible when he got in a game but seems like a great kid and is enrolled in grad school. Props to this young man.

All the QB's could have the same number as long as they are not on the field at the same time.

This is all the rule book says. http://fs.ncaa.org/Docs/rules/fielddiagrams/football.pdf

No two players of the same team shall participate in the same down wearing identical numbers (A.R. 1-4-2-II) [S23].

Is the argument that we'll have 2 qbs with the same number? I seriously doubt that. I understand the rule, just saying that typically, if a team has 2 players with the same number, one will play on offense and the other on defense. For example, Vic Wharton (WR) and LaTroy Lewis (DE) no.4.... Drae Bowles (WR) and Rashaan Gaulden (DB) no. 7.

Finally, if Dormady is now #12 as well, then we have 3 players with the same number....Peterman, Dormady and E. Moseley.

I don't disagree with most of that. I'm just saying that simply because Dormady is #12 doesn't mean Peterman can't also be #12. Is it likely? Maybe not. But since they will never see the field at the same time it would never be an issue. And is completely legal. That's my whole point.

If he had one that was better than the upperclassman he absolutely would.

First of all, even though he has been at U.T. for 3 seasons, he has only played in games in 2 seasons. The other was a redshirt year.

Secondly, he has only thrown 43 passes in his career, which most qb's do in one game. He has completed 20 of them, and about all of his passes have been against tough competition behind the worst o-line that we have ever seen here. When he has played against easier competition, he just gets to hand it off to run clock. I am not ready to give up on him.

This season Peterman was 10 of 20 with no interceptions. 13 of his 20 passes were against Georgia and Alabama. He completed 6 of 13 against them, and 4 of 7 against the other teams that he played.

Exactly how much confidence has the staff had over him in the last two years to be the starter?

Thank god! Good luck to him but glad to see another scholarship opening up instead of continuing to waste one with him.
