… yeah well remember all those piss bombs your idiot Ilk threw on our saintly traveling fan base… total classlessness

Actually, no I don’t. Not at all, never have seen or participated in anything remotely close to that. But UF absolutely has idiot fans.

As you saw last night, we all do.

Terrible look BUT

I had to re read the part about player safety and dozens and dozens of water bottles.

We’re there many injuries from water bottle strikes?

Yeah the single golf ball thrown was ridiculous but that doesn’t reflect on ALL the fans. It reflects on a single bozo that took it way too far. Maybe with prior intent. Arrest amd ban him if they figure out who it is.

It is over the top and the vast majority of UT fans have never and would never behave like this. This does NOT reflect the UT fan base.

Having said that, I never wanna hear another word about some idiot fan(s) allegedly throwing a cup of urine in Gainesville 25 years ago. All fan bases have their fair share of idiots.
I resemble that remark....

Then leave this board and don't come back.

As the minutes ticked by and the hailstorm continued, Tennessee fans exhibited a level of fan misbehavior that we haven’t seen in college football this generation.

I think it is ridiculous throwing stuff at a football game but Thamel is FOS with his typical histrionics.

Dan Wolken is cranking up his keyboard for a hit piece in short order as well.

People acted stupid. Lets take our fine, move on and make this a very small sidenote in our history. SEC Network was on their moral high horse last night. Like we need a sports commentator to lecture us about ethical behavior. How is not acknowledging the gutsy performance and injury of Mr. Hooker postgame to hit out at the fans who did nothing with the old lazy teacher " you should all be ashamed" lecture ethical? Bunch of B team hack jobs Chizik included. He should kiss Cam Newtons feet everyday for giving him a whisper of a career to speak of. That is all.

Like this hasn't happened before. Anyone remember the Auburn game where they threw so many oranges at our players during warmup it covered the corner of the field in front of the student section? Only punishment was UT kicking their butts.

The closest Thamel has ever come to actually breaking a story was being one of the first to report on Manti Te'o's GF and grandmother dying on the same day.........., before the hoax was exposed.....

Thamel's career has literally gone from NYT, to Sports Illustrated, to Yahoo.
That is not the way the progression works for credible journalists.

Thamel's just jealous he's had a worse trajectory the last 20 years than we have.

Is saying "our fans" not a fairly clear all-inclusive statement? Did you manage to fail out of ETSU?
Actually, it's not. All inclusive in this situation would have been a statement like "all of our fans." Simply put, there was no quantities value assigned to the comment, so the inference is based on the reader.

Did you manage to fail out of your GED program? Stop taking breaks and get back to cleaning the stadium.

If 100 out of 5,000 Ole Miss basketball fans throwing trash at Admiral and Grant didn't deserve a fine then why does 500 or 1,000 out of 102K throwing trash deserve a fine?

That was the exact phrasing that stuck out to me. Almost all of the article is ridiculously over the top pearl clutching, but that one quote is just clearly empirically incorrect. I don’t know if he does this on purpose for hate clicks or he’s just an idiot but that article was embarrassing. Some fans threw water bottles, happens about 30 times a year at various stadiums. It’s not 9/11

Maybe instead of virtue signaling you should talk about the underlying issues that created the reaction in the first place... Like the fact that if fake injuries aren't dealt with then it will lead to more games that last four plus hours, encourage dirty play, and diminish the quality of football as a whole. Not to mention the awful officiating.

That's too hard for them though. Looking good by punching on the actual victim is much easier.

I refuse to click on that article and take the bait and give him more click cred and attention.

Just let it go people. He’s completely trash. Even more than the mustard bottle
