As a longtime reporter at a major daily newspaper, I know firsthand that contacting the writer and the sports editor aren't necessarily the best routes to take. It's possible that your complaints will be ignored.

If you want any attention, go over their heads.

Contact Clark Hoyt, the public editor for the Times. He is the reader representative and his job is to give an honest listen to reader criticism.

This is old news, but it still gives me hope:

Is The New York Times About To Go Bankrupt? | NewsBusters.org

The comments are pretty funny, especially this one:

Dear Santa,

I have been a very very good boy this year and this is my wish list for Christmas.

1. I would like a Lionel train set.
2.1 case of small batch Basil Hayden bourbon.
3.I want Al Gore's private jet to go down in Antartica.
4.A new collar for my dog Petie.
5.Please make that horrible, lying ,worthless and treasonous, bird cage lining ragThe New York Times fall into bankruptcy in a most particulary painful and humiliating way and throw all of it's writers out on the street.
:eek:lol:

Honestly, the people who are DAILY readers of the NY Post do not care whatsoever about UT football or the SEC. It would be like running an article in the KNS about Syracuse football. He is publishing these articles to reach an audience primarily in the Southeast. Looks like its working. Ignore the  idiot.

I couldn't care less about all that. What concerns me is that the NCAA ssems to put a lot of stock into this. I don't think they'll find much dirt concerning the hostesses but what scares me is what else they might uncover left over from the Fulmer regime.....

I sent Mr. Hoyt a very calm, reasonable email. His address is public@nytimes.com. I recieved a very bland, form response. It did promise that every email would be read and suggested that if you are writing with regard to a specific article that you include the date, section, and headline of the article in question.

So, that probably means if you mention that "piece of garbage written by that scumbag Thamel," he might not know which piece of garbage you are referencing.
