The idea that Greg Schiano is a better hire than JP is ridiculous.

Other than the “baggage” that none of us wanted associated (even if unproven) with the face of our football program, Schiano was a fail. He was run out of the NFL for tyrannical, bull-headed leadership style that alienated literally everyone. He also had a reputation for petty B.S. like going after the knees of other players attempting to take a knee in the “victory” formation. No thanks. Glad Schiano isn’t here. No one is knocking down his door to hire as a HC. That speaks volumes.

Couldn't possibly have been that Pruitt has worked with a lot of people over the years and decided who he might want to work with again? Perhaps he's thought out a staff he might want if he got that chance at the next step? Too much advanced thought for you?

The answer to all the criticism is to win games. Win big and they will shut up, don't and they will pile on. Either way, there is no doubt that CJP is a better hire than Schiano, if for no other reason than as a cultural fit. That aspect can't be discounted based on our last three coaches.

Fulmer, to put it as nicely as possible for someone like you, is an opportunist. And that is by far the nicest way to put it. I have zero respect for him.

I wonder how everyone will feel in 2 years. Hopefully these words aren't going to echo over east TN. I was never (and will never be) a Schaino fan...but Leach? That's another subject altogether.

And no one can deny CPF's attempt to regain control within the UT Athletic department nor his coup of CJM in the early 90s. He knifed CJM big-time.

Pete Thamel says he resinged from SI sports but other sources say he got fired and Yahoo hired him( seems to me to be some sports writer trying to make a name for himself)

I believe he was under the impression he might get the Tennessee job especially with his best friend, Tee Martin, expecting to come also. There were rumors that Jimmy Sexton had proposed a package deal of Kiffin, Martin, and Steele since he represents all 3. His twitter feed went dead during our coaching search.

I hope Tn wins 15 games next year, but the assertion that Pruitt, from the Crimson Tide through and through, is a good "cultural fit" for TN is nauseating. I get the whole Southern thing (though that's BS, too), but freaking Alabama?

Completely laughable. Tee Martin and Kevin Steele weren't making lateral moves away from to programs to coach under Lane Kiffin.

Got some evidence of that? Not disagreeing but wondering how you're drawing your conclusions other than bias. Kinda early in his AD career to conclude too much, I'd think.
