PETA Run Amok

I actually have a tiny bit of sympathy about the whole walking horse thing since they teach them to walk that way by creating open sores on their legs. PETA, however, is a different story altogether. They are serious wack jobs. I just read an article yesterday that they are about to start up a porn website that will feature PETA adds at the end of each sex video. LOL. They just can't get out of their own way. Any decent person who had the slightest but of idea to support PETA will most likely figure out what a bunch of weirdo's PETA is by this stupid stunt.

I'm pretty sure we do not use horses that are trained that way anymore.

Dude, I think you need to seriously reevaluate yourself. Because as of now, you really suck at life.

agreed. im pretty sure if we brought the horse out at homecoming and beat it with whips everyone would be outraged. beating animals because youre angry at a football team......just sad.

PETA and other animal rights activists have opposed rodeos for a long time as well.

However, the chuckwagon races at the Calgary Stampede are the most exciting event I've ever attended. Four wagons, plus their teams, plus four outriders per wagon for a total of 32 horses in each heat. A real stampede for sure!

PETA still exists? I thought P Diddy and his crew murdered all of them a few years ago?

College Boys Coming Up Short in Their Shorts? | PETA.org

^ This is my favorite PETA article ever. I was a member of the UT Bass Team when this letter was sent to UAB. I don't have a copy of the letter anymore, but I still think this article is funny. UAB got the first letter and they sent it to multiple schools. UTC got one as well.

PETA did a similar thing with hunters, complete with bogus "scientific" website.

It amazes me that eunuchs can criticize someone else's hypothetical shortcomings.

Yeah knowing that guy would get his @$$ kicked by the smallest kid on any of the bass teams. It is easy for them to post things like that online, but they never once showed up to a tournament to protest...

On another note, how many farm raised animals would go extinct if every person on earth decided to become vegan? How many farmers would allow cows, chickens, goats, pigs, etc. to roam around their land and feed them for free? (I know there are some wild boars, sheep, etc.) Most of these animals are raised in captivity for single purpose and that is for human comsumption. Could we do a more humane job of slaughtering them at the processing plants and taking care of them on the farm... Absolutely, but the conundrum that PETA puts themselves in is that they are basically wanting to run these animals into extinction, they are just too ignorant to know that. Most of them have never been to a farm, slaughter house, or any other place where the animals or kept. Most of them have seen a few slaughter house documentaries and got their panties in a wad...

They also attack some of the biggest conservationists in the country when they go after Hunters and Fisherman. Think of all the conservation groups that purchase land to turn them into preserves, donate money to this and that. This list is very long:

National Wild Turkey Federation
Ducks Unlimited
Pheasants Forever
Delta Waterfowl
And More (See link Below)

Hunters and Conservation

Sorry for the rant, I just can't stand them! :hi:

I don't like PETA at all, but there are 2 kinds of Walking Horses, one that has the Big exaggerated gate and one that just rides smoothe. Our friends that breed the other kind actively despise some of the people who train the high steppers because of what they do. Often times the real high steppers have been tortured. Wiki:

Soring is an abusive and prohibited practice that is associated in part with the production of "big lick" movement in Tennessee Walking Horses. It involves using chemical agents such as mustard oil, diesel fuel, kerosene, salicylic acid, and other caustic substances on the pasterns, bulbs of the heel, or coronary bands of the horses, causing burning or blistering of the horses' legs in order to accentuate their gaits. These chemicals are harmful, usually quite toxic and sometimes carcinogenic, such that trainers must use a brush and wear gloves when applying them. The treated area is then often wrapped in plastic while the chemicals are absorbed. The chemical agents cause extreme pain, and usually lead to scarring. A distinctive scarring pattern is a tell-tale signs of soring, and therefore attempts may be made to cover the scarring with a dye, or the horse's legs may be treated with salicylic acid before the animal is stalled (as many can not stand up after the treatment) while the skin of the scars slough off.

I record the show "Hogs Gone Wild" on the Discovery channel (which is on right now). Everytime I hear of PETA doing something like this, I watch an episode and eat meat. Makes me feel better. By the way, I just had some pulled pork.

no one made the eagle fly into the press box.... and as long as they have done that I havent heard of it happening before. Birds fly into planes all the time, i guess the airline industry should just hang it up.

Chill Francis. I like cow medium rare as much as the next guy, but If you can't recognize the irony of your post then I don't know what to tell you. I mean, you know the birds that fly into planes are not kept in cages? Don't you? Or maybe you don't, but just so you do, they are.

No, i thought they captured it in the wild the morning of the game. of course i know they are held in cages. I was just saying its not the worst thing happening to animals and peta should focus its attention elsewhere.
I like my cow medium-rare as well.
