Perspective from a fan who was there.. Worst Fans EVER.

And I'm calling BS on your stupid post. You're a damn liar. I've been to at least 8 games in Columbia and never had or seen anything like you're describing.
It's low class and cowardly to call someone names without giving them the opportunity to receive these insults in person, so they can subsequently respond appropriately. I doubt Christian's lying. I live outside of Columbia and have heard similar garbage. I've been to Williams Brice; always wearing UT orange, even if it's been for USCe's playing some other team, and the ugly comments are almost as bad as at the swamp. For some reason, 'liners have a 'hate thing' for UT. I'm guessing you're pretty much a hirsute homunculus when encountered personally. You owe the young man an apology.

I don't think it's a stretch to think out of 60,000 to 80,000 fans they'll be a handful of fans that are jack wagons at all stadiums. To blanket state that all the SC fans are angels is pretty ridiculous IMO.

Let me start by saying I went to the game with my girlfriend and her dad and sat in a season ticket holder section. I don't talk ****, but I do cheer. This is what I experienced

I cheered when we got a pass interference call, no big deal right? Wrong. Some crazy ***** behind me said "You should only cheer when you earn it!! The refs gave you that one!!!"

From then on out, she audibly talked **** to me with no antagonizing from me. Here's some gems from her

I would've turned around and asked her if she ever saw the Ray Rice video.

She would get the hint.

They can be bad in Columbia but USCjr fans have always been delusional. I've been to a few games there, the last one I went to a few years ago I was sitting in the endzone & we were getting beat. Some Indian or Arab dude for some reason kept turning around & talking s***. I ignored him but he kept on so I finally said "f*** you mother***** you're not even from South Carolina" & that was the end of that.

I remember when they beat us in Knoxville a few years ago too, it was like 15-13 or something. A lot of their fans were being cool & we were standing on the patio at Ocharley's. It was cold & guys were stripping off shirts & fighting in the middle of Cumberland while KPD watched. Good times.

Not really, but liars pi$$ me off pretty good.

South Carolina has some of the best fans in the SEC. All these stories are complete horse$hit.

You sound immensely dense and rock-headed…

It never happened to me so it could have NEVER happened to anyone else…

If you put your hands over your eyes do you believe yourself to be invisible as well?

It's funny how some people never seem to have problems and some have stories about everywhere they go. Wonder why that is?

I have been to Bama, UF, UGA, and USC and the only fans I had problem with were at UGA...OK, in fairness there have been some near fights at UT with UT fans.

From then on out, she audibly talked **** to me with no antagonizing from me. Here's some gems from her

"Incest is best in east tennessee"

"Doesn't it feel good when you EARN IT??" (After carolina went up 42-28)

"How many times did you **** the ref for them to give you this game?"

Aside from her, a group of Gamecocks were talking about how cold it was to stay for overtime. I chimed in and said "Yeah, the way both offenses are playing, it might never end." Their response? "We weren't talking to you, ****er."

I HATE being around those fans, and I may never go to an away game without having tickets in our section again.

But, I LOVED being there and staying until the end. That was insane, and one of the best moments of my life as far as attending a game has went.

Also, they're pretty fairweather.. there were only like 65k there to begin with. After half I'd say it dropped to 55k and even as it was going to OVERTIME, it was at 30k max.

Some Tennessee fans left too, but not nearly on the same scale as them. It was baffling to me.

In any case, Go Vols, 7-5.

Well, this jogged a memory...apropos of nothing. In 1981, I drove from Memphis with a buddy to Athens for the GA- TN game...WITHOUT TICKETS. Stopped by my cousin's house to borrow his game jersey to wear. Got to Sanford Stadium and paid $100 each for two tickets...in the GA section...

And proceeded to watch, in that sea of red and black, the worst beatdown GA ever put on us...44-0.

The punchline?

I was wearing an orange and white Tennessee game jersey...number 44. The GA fans were great to my friend and me and they had some good laughs. Not a single smarmy or nasty comment that I can remember...at least from GA fans.

Right before the end of this debacle, my buddy and I decided to go down to the stadium section where our team would leave the field for the tunnel to the visitors' dressing room. We simply wanted to cheer the guys on, holler "Keep your heads up!" and "Keep fighting!"

There were about 70 or so other Tennessee fans standing there waiting to do the same thing...or so we thought.

As soon as the team started leaving the field, MANY of these Tennessee fans started SCREAMING at several of the players and at Johnny Majors and Fulmer and other coaches..."This s$$t aint gonna cut it, you dumba$$es!" "You'd better start looking for a job, Majors, cause you just lost this one!!" and "You guys stunk it up! You need to be BENCHED the rest of the season!!" and "What the f##k was that??? Don't you girls know how to play this game??"

A few actually threw cups full of something at Majors and his coaching staff, including Fulmer, as they started into the tunnel. No doubt many of these "fans" were liquored up.

These were grown men and women screaming obscenities at college football players -- their own team -- and their coaches. And throwing things at them as they left the field.

It was the most embarrassing moment I've ever had as a Vol fan. I was stunned and shamed.

The rich irony: now those folks' children and grandchildren regularly post their vitriol on Volnation.

And at least these SC fans didn't throw urine on our players leaving the field as FL fans have done in the past.

I hope that those of a similar ilk, that claim to be Vols, learn something from the treatment of our people. We had a group of trash in our own stadium chanting to Florida. The problem with this type of behavior, is it paints everyone in the home stadium with the same brush. I'm really sorry any Vol Fan had to suffer this type of crap, I'm also hopeful that no fan visiting Knoxville should ever receive the same from Vols. We're above that-I hope.
Only the lowest trash in Neyland would think something like this should give a green light to act this way. We can't control what happens away, but we can at home.

$100 per 33 years ago?!!! Good gosh what's that like $600 now?

If you have tens of thousands of fans gathered in one place and only a handful of them are jerks those are the ones you will remember. Now I do believe some fan bases have a higher percentage of said jerks. Florida for instance.

It's not BS, I am from Columbia and a Vol fan. I will not go to a game here because of the crappy USC fans. All they do is talk bad and badger people the whole game, it is quite pathetic. I

Was at Ole Miss...my family were only UT fans in the section. They were pure class, not exactly what I expected.

I was also at the Mizzou game last year, and IMO, they are the most classy fans I've ran across. Definitely looking forward to going back next year.
Yea Mizz fans were by far the most hospitable fans that I've ever encountered

I live in Columbia. Go to most home games here if it's a decent opponent.

Can confirm that SC fans are the worst I have ever encountered save 90s UF fans.

HoptownVol is either a troll or straight up ignorant.

Calling B.S on your entire little tale. First no way did you spend 100$ on a ticket in 1980's Georgia. Heck most of their tickets are still cheaper than that today! Second something that appalling would have surely Received pretty significant attention among our fan base.

There are a-holes everywhere you go including UT.

My brother in law has been there several times and has had all kinds of experiences with a few similar to the OPs. It all depends on who you end up sitting around. Its not uncommon really.

As usual, Beech is the voice of reason.

I've had bad experiences to. Should'nt be like that but it is, and UT fans are just as bad I'm afraid.

"South Carolina is too small for a republic and too large for an insane asylum." It sounds like not much has changed since Secession.

Congrats on the win Vols. I'm really sick of Steve Spurrier and I love it when he melts down.

Good luck the rest of the season.

I'm from Hopkinsville. Do you want to meet somewhere around Spring Hill and fight about it? Didnt think so.

Its unbelievable how you guys revert to these juvenile attacks when you have nothing to say bowlinggreenvol. And we all know Bowling Green is a major metropolis! LOL

You coming to the Kentucky game? If so let me know. I will meet you and throw piss on you. Then you can stfu.
