Performance of the Defense (merged)

Minus the first two drives (really only the second one plus vereens missed tackle fiasco) the defense has done an outStanding job against a reply good offense. Lots of pressure on collaros. If they can continue to build on this our d will be just fine this year.

I still can't believe that Pead TD. That was just stupid. I felt like a Cal fan in 2006 watching Hardesty streak down the sideline.

Cincy has an offense that will score alot of points this year, mark it down. The defense is still young but not doing that bad. Cant even get out of the 1st half w/o over-reacting.....lmao

Defense is holding when it counts. I'm impressed today. Missed tackles early. Have settled in.

I think the defense has been just alright, but the one area it's worked well which has been our saving grace is short yardage smash mouth defense.

Where is the f'ing thumbs down button? Why does Volnation have a "Like" button but no "Dislike this post"? Because it would get worn out?

There are so many knee-jerk reactionists in our fanbase. It's sickening how so many of our so-called fans are so quick to criticize. Get behind the team or ****TW.

qft... Go Vols!

Honestly... Cincy will probably finish the game with well north of 400 yards offense, nearly split 50/50 between rushing and passing. Again, I maintain the Bearcat offense can do some things, but this is by no stretch an A+ performance.

Calleros has 7 rushes for 1 yard. Defense is playing real good. Real real good. Real, real, real good.

Good point. He has not been his usual dual threat self. Don't think I'd go as far as you have with the kudos, though.

They're up to 372 now. I don't think I've ever seen a defense get statistically shredded like this yet be up by 25.

Total yards is deceiving though. Cincy looks like they could win the east (not saying much, I know) and win 9 games. This game will look pretty good from. A defensive standpoint.

Seriously, our biggest weakness ( front 7 ) has been very good, our biggest strength ( db ) has been mediocre. Such is the ways of a young team. As long as somebody steps up and makes the play, I don't care if we give up 900 yards. The final score is all that counts.

Take away the big early run by Pead (two missed tackles), and it looks better. Wouldn't say shredded. Cincy has a good offense! Where are the 70 points from last week?

Nothing wrong with this game defensively that can't be fixed before next week.
